I just purchased a 2000 with a Trac 240 swingarm
Perfomance Machine Rims look great---you can go to Trac Dynamics and put a package together.
Check out New Indy member--I have rode 99 busa's bike and I really didn't feel any difference taking the curves. If you read up on the 240 kit it is very rideable and with the trac you don't have to have an extra sprocket---other than rideability issues--most people commenting on the ride have not saddled up a 240.

IMO it just sets up a great look on the bike--not too little and not too much like a 300. I have a 6 inch stretch with Arnott airride. LOVE IT--go for it!! I will post pictures....

now this is an old thread but none the less good info for someone who decided to vote.

2000 dollars u mean for the whole 240 kit??

My 2 cents I LOVE seeing the 240 kits! I think the Busa looks better extend a few inches! So basically, do you bruh!!! It all depends on your riding and what you're trying to achieve. Again, all bikes to me is an expression of YOU...Like ART"!! I would extend mine if I had the money!!

I like the Fat tire look but for me I just wish they made a jackshaft set-up for the 240 kits so you could center the tire properly. And the bigger wide tire kits that do come with a jackshaft set-up are just to expensive for me to afford.

I pulled the trigger on a 240 for my bike from Trac using stock wheels with alittle machine work. The trac arm has a offset sprocket witch gets it alot closer to center guess i willl see still awaiting parts to arrive.

Cant wait to see it, Im throwing the idea around as well. If possible please take pics of the install.

How much is the total set up for a 240 kit? And although I know it will handle differently is that big of a difference?

For chrome, wheels, and all set up...expect $3K up to $3600. Then you also can add on air-tank in arm, NOS bracket, or even the expence to be single sided. Skys the limit.

I have 2008 and I am looking for a black powder coat. When I purchase this kit can I install it myself or do I need to get it done professionally
I installed my triple tree and and extension with no problem.

240 kit....needs. Swingarm pivot socket, The ability to grind your own frame to knoch it for the offset, impact wrench to get the front sprocket loose, chain brake, all else is light basic service. DOnt forget to get heavy rear spring to stiffen the rear. You will be bleeding the rear brake too.

Having a jack, stand, and all the nice and odd tools are a plus. Oh and if it not going very well....a shop may know what to do vs. being ripped apart in your driveway. Shop...meaning not a dealership!!!!!!! go to a place that has does the kits if it sounds to much for ya.

Re: 240 kit for 2008

:banghead:I am looking for a 240 kit for my 2008 Busa, I would like to use same brake kit and any other parts I can. Want to get the stock black rim widened to fit a 240 tire. anybody know of such a kit ? Please PM me, busatim , someone out there must know !!..

Good luck finding a 240 arm that uses the same GenII brake braket? For widing the stock rim..check with Koatsh, or something like that. Not sure of the name. Ive been seeing more and more stock rims done. Good luck.
