He graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi in June 1962 and was offered a scholarship to study in New York City[22] with which he could have supported his family, but he declined it preferring to attend the more prestigious Harvard University.[13] He left for Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he would begin graduate study at Harvard in the fall.[15]

Mother and son returned to Seattle, where she enrolled in the University of Washington either before[15] or after[20] her husband left Hawaiʻi. Subsequently, Dunham moved back to Hawaiʻi[20] and filed for divorce in Honolulu in January 1964. Obama Sr. did not contest, and the divorce was granted.[16] Obama Sr. received a Masters degree (MA) in economics from Harvard in 1965[23] and only saw his son again once, in 1971, when Barack was ten years old. After Obama Sr. died in 1982, Ann Dunham visited Kenya.[24]

I don't understand how its's screwed up to have educted parents. The other stuff like divorce and such that happens on a daily basis. Where is the part about his mother getting remarried or his grandparent's who helped in his upbringing?

I sure as hell didn't vote for Obama or the liberal agenda, BUT - he won the election. He deserves the respect of the office and we all REALLY NEED for him to be successful for us ALL (just as we ALL would if McCain had won). It's not polite to speak of our President in degrading language, and for those of you who can't seem to remember this - it' PRESIDENT BUSH, just like, tomorrow, it will be PRESIDENT OBAMA. SHOW SOME RESPECT this country would be alot better off if we could all remember that.

you respect the office not the man, he has to earn respect.
I wish him luck, he has a long road to hoe ..
He may be the answer we need to unite the country down the racial lines.
I sure hope so. he has been given the chance to change things for the better. I pray he does.
I am staying optimistic.
I like the guy on the surface so far. I want to wait and see if his actions are the real deal.
 
His honeymoon begins tomorrow - but I suspect it will not last long; the problems he faces are HUGE.

I would really HATE having to be his Secret Service detail chief. Too much pressure - not only the President, but the first minority President...

but why introduce logic into this....as long as these folks think he's the anti-christ, i mean closet terrorist, i mean racist....either way, these people need something to gripe about....as far as the "sheeple"comment...cute givin' the circumstances.

I think this is where a hillbilly yells out "you can have my guns when you pry them from my cold dead hands!"

No...Obama is quite safe from the terrorists. He fits perfectly into their

The honeymoon will last for fricken ever, at least thruout his first term

Demicrats do not have accountability period and the media LOVES him and
anything that goes wrong for the first term will still be Bush's fault.
I guarantee it....

He will have to the second term before even a hint of negitivity from the
media finds its way...think Clinton only more liberal and black...
