Try it before you buy it?

I asked, and they didn't have it, but said they could order it.
They also said they couldn't get any more Busa's, and had no idea when they would be able.
But, other dealers have black ones and better prices anyway.
The supply shortage is crazy. The black Busa I reserved that arrived to the dealership December 21 was the one the importer promised to have ready by September 2021. Now they say they aren't sure they can get a black one AT ALL in 2022.
The other colors are much less desirable it seems.

Where are you?
I'm in Va, and there are several black ones at different dealers here and in NC, and around $2k below sticker.

In Germany we have round about 100 Busas for sale. 52 in Black, at the moment there is absolut no interest in these bikes. Many bikes of other brands are sold out, even for 2022. They say it would be extreme difficult to get new bikes this year. Transport and logistics crashed, the manufactures cant deliver many models!

All your hear is "buy, buy, buy...or you wont get a new bike this year". First i thougt, it is only a marketing fluke, but it seems to be true. The GSX-S1000GT is mostly sold out, first bikes reach germany in MAY! Then the season for the dealers ist almost over, i dont know what Suzuki thinks!

Now Suzuki dealers hope, to sell the Busas to, because some customers dont get other models. Its crazy anyway, a new 2021 Busa Gen III will cost 16,900 EUR new, a 2022 modell 19.800....its the same bike, in the same color! Strange world!

Ignorance is bliss these days...I was talking to a former colleague and he was mentioning he was thinking of getting another bike...most likely a sport bike..

I mentioned perhaps a gen 3 Hayabusa and he just looked at me and said there's no way he'd spend that much on a big, heavy, under-powered bike when he can pay less for a liter bike.

I said throw and exhaust and filter on it and get a few other weight reduction items and you'd have a decent bike which will eat up the miles....he said he can get a new liter bike for less then spend money on upgrades then have a bike that is lighter, more powerful and ready to go...for less over all cost.

Some people out there just don't know how good the Hayabusa is.

The problem is that they all live with their heads down their a****! Sorry that I say that directly! For the price of the Busa there is no current Gixxer, no ZX-10R, no S1000RR and certainly no Fireblade, because it cost 10,000 euros more. And then you have such a light, expensive superbike ... with shitty Gear translation, that you have to drive in first or second gear on the country road. And what if you want to keep traveling? What if you want to take a passenger with you? The power, the solid power, the suit, you won't find this lightness on any other bike. My old man is always gossiping about my Busa, he drives a CBR1000RR SC77 himself. Nice bike, great workmanship ..... but the bike doesn't make you any smarter. Whenever I hear "this heavy chunk is no good, Suzuki is unreliable anyway, completely pointless on the country road ..... people laugh at the bike". First I notice what envy does to a mind! : D

Yep, and I have to agree with you on Busas vs 1k's too.
I Love liter bikes, but nothing beats Busa torque.
And, yes, 1k's are alot lighter, but do tend to dance around and ride the ragged edge, vs the bigger and heavier Busa that definately feels more planted, and harder to upset as a result.

Ha!
Your Dad rides a cbr1000 and you guys bicker back and forth about it and your Busa...that's awesome!

Reminds me of my egotistical neighbor on his S1KRR who used to call my bike a "farm implement" then we went out for a ride and although I couldn't get by him, I was right on his rear and could have went around him on a few occasions as he messed up a few lines...

He told me he wouldn't be able to all it a "farm implement" any more...

....and my bike is an old '09 compared to his tuned and piped 2021...

I found the liter bikes to be more purposeful....they were good for very specific roles but generally sucked for day to day riding....my Gixxer was like that, it got blown around on the hiway all the time and was fatiguing to ride.

If my hands were better, I could ride my Hayabusa all day.

No, to be honest, it's not a friendly squabble. The guy means it seriously, he's gnawed by envy because he always wants the biggest, best, and greatest. What he cannot have or cannot afford, he always does badly. He's not a good man and not a good father either ... but you only have one father in life, right? I am planning to buy his Fireblade as a second bike this year or next because he is getting too old. I am just not allowed to say that in the presence of my wife, otherwise her eye twitches so funny and she goes into the kitchen and suspiciously reaches for the knife block. :)

Oh man, I am sorry to hear that about your Dad, I hope that the 2 of you can one day somehow make ammends.

As for your wife and you getting a 2nd bike, lol, that's funny.

I wish I had known that sooner.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying it is big, heavy and underpowered, that was my former colleague....
;) I know! I just found it very funny. I've used 'tank' to describe my bike but owning one gives me that right, right? But underpowered??

Farm implement, OTOH ... priceless. Never heard it before

Wow, that's awful.
Sounds like the high prices the guys in Oz are paying.
Yes, they are preying on the fact that the biking community is small & will pay anything to get the bike & accessories. The touring windscreen from Suzuki is sold for $700 here. The front axle sliders are for $250. I paid $650 for R&G frame sliders. You can imagine the cost of ownership here. We pay $5.9 a US gallon for 95 octane gas.
