When I talked to a friend yesterday, who’s skin color is darker than mine but chooses not to be called either a black man, or African American. He chooses to be called Keith as that is his name. We talked in depth of each of our views on this situation right now. Although I do not agree with how the protesters are going about, I stand behind their freedom to do so in a peaceful manner. Neither one of us believes that all protesters are the looters, or the ones injuring people and police. However, remaining at an event when the shot goes south, now can be implicated as a “enemy combatant “ “excuse my phrasing as that’s just how I’ve been trained to see it”. As such more desperate measures are needed to control the situation In the end, when the smoke clears, a lot of innocent people will be hurt, and the message of despair and anger and much needed excepting will not of been heard. It will not be the loudest voice at the podium. It will only amplify the sorrow and pain, yet now for other family’s. The world we live in needs to stop measuring a man by his color, but see him through his actions. Poverty affects every race, some possibly more than other but every one. You have a choice. Pull up your boot straps, fight the hard fight, make a difference in your life, or accept that you will never get out of the situation you are in now. Only you can choose. Use your voice. Use your mind. BE THE DIFFERENCE YOU WANT TO SEE
Off rant. I’m outta this fight. Just here wanting to go fishing. The fish don’t give a darn where ya came from.
