Where?Just ended 36 hours of heavy rain and cold temps. Supposed to warm up tomorrow and Saturday and get cold again on Sunday.
Very true but…at least we can ride! That's what my sister says....only she says it sucks to be you...
Then I reminded her we have no fire ants, pythons, poisonous snakes (except a couple rattle snakes-none where I live), gaters, killer bees, hurricanes, or poisonous spiders so I'll take winter any day over all of that....
Kind of sort of related....years ago I was out west, it was late March and was over 30'C out.....one of the civilians we worked with said it was supposed to snow the next day and we all just looked at him with blank faces and almost all at once told him he was joking as it was frickin' hot out....Middle of summer. 3 days ago, 33c.
Yesterday and today, cold snap, 9c up to 18c
Consistancy has left the building![]()
That's nuts.........It snowed about 4" last Tuesday, then turned to freezing rain, then more freezing rain and rain on wednesday.
More rain on thursday, saturday, and yesterday morning.
High winds with big gusts for the last week.
This has creeks and rivers out of their banks, as the ground is saturated, and with the wind, as well as the weight of snow and ice on everything(which all melted by last thursday/friday), there are trees down everywhere, and they continue to fall.
We lost power for 18 hours, but some people are still without 6 days later.
My well water is cloudy, even with the filter system, and the filter on the kitchen sink and refridgerator.
I spent about an hour and a half with the chainsaw yesterday, cutting up several big broken branches from a tree in my front yard.
It's all still laying their too, as the ground is so saturated it's like walking in a swamp.
The high winds have really helped to dry things out quickly since the rain has stopped.
But, I have some stored water and can't complain, as alot of people had and have it alot worse.
A friend of mine lives a mile away, and somehow they were still trying to get her power back on last night, day 5 for her...and everyone around her has had power back for days now.
The forecast is for 3"-5" of snow for this wednesday, with some forecasts saying 8"-12", time will tell.
But...it's less than 3 weeks until the clocks go forward!
Spring is getting closer, only about 2 more months of cold weather...
A bird and Leopard in the same spot......380K’s / 236 miles.
A bit warm at 33 C / 91.5 F but still nice.

Maybe 2 more rides and it’ll be another pair of new tyres and a main service.
I’m not very clued up on military stuff, and some of the Aussie stuff is different to my homeland UK stuff. I still take a few pics on my travels as I do find it interesting and glad it’s been saved and used as a remembrance.A bird and Leopard in the same spot......
The tank is a German Leopard 1 model, similar to what our Canadian military used.....we now have the Leopard 2 A6,I’m not very clued up on military stuff, and some of the Aussie stuff is different to my homeland UK stuff. We have a lot of RSL social clubs here. The tank is a German Leopard 1 model, similar to what our Canadian military used.....we now have the Leopard 2 A6,
The green gun under the sign is a British 17 pounder anti-tank howitzer and the larger fixed artillery piece is an anti-air unit, the green gun by itself behind your nice motorcycle is most likely a British 18 pounder
Had to look up the aircraft...it's a British Canberra bomber...
Having these monuments is an important part of remembrance for sure......
