Went down in Hollywood! (not a joke!)

Dude, I used to razz you about not wearing gear, just glad you had a lid on... the bike can be fixed, your noggin cannot.....

Good gracious...glad your alright Pan. Gloves, if nothing else I always wear my gloves. Cant stand not having full function of the digitals.

Glad to hear you're OK. And... I'm really glad things aren't any worse than they are. Fortunately the Busa is fixable and most importantly, you're OK.

Glad your alright dude.
Hmmmm....that reminds me, someone said awhile back to dress for the CRASH not the ride, I never heard that before until I joined the .org now I can see why if that was a 35mph crash, still looks painful.

Glad yer ok -- welcome (back) to California --Happens all the time to me (knocking on wodd that I have kept her upright )

Pan-Just glad it wasn't any worse. I was really lookin forward to ridin' with you tomorrow. Heal up, relax and worry about the damage later.

I have a stock Busa windscreen to tide you over until you get a new Double Bubble. Just PM me and I'll send it to ya.

Thanks, everybody. I haven't taken the time to completely inspect the bike... in too much pain right now to even bother. I'm sure the damage will reach over $1,500 because I forgot the can was damaged and the front fender, too. I'll have to tally it all up when I feel up to it. At least the bike is still rideable...

Sunset (at the strip) is a very slick road and that played a huge factor in me going down... and yes, when I get back on the bike again I will always be wearing my gloves and jacket. I learned my painful lesson.

glad you're OK. hopefully someone saw it and can call in the plate of the car that caused this.

Yes and no. At 35 mph he would ~probably~ still need to replace the fairing, depending on how picky he is. At that speed without them, as you can see, that "probably" turns into a "guarantee".

I need to get up off my arse and get some myself. I saw a Busa drop with sliders on and the only thing that had to be replaced was the clutch lever ($35). That drop was at a VERY slow roll though. 5mph at the most.

Pan ... I'm glad you're alright man. I won't get on you about your gear. You're here and you're healthy ... that's all that matters.

Sorry to hear about your mishap, at least your okay. If you need some parts let me know,I have some if you need em.

I hope you were'nt going for that infamous 5 minute ride down the street for a pack of cigarettes, cause by the time you got outta the hospital and cat-scan (with your Superman undies on) I had already put all my gear on,went to the store, got back and cracked a coldie!!1

Not trying to bust yer balls here bro,bot just trying to make my point to you, like I have been trying all along...

Charlie, glad to hear you made it through this ordeal. But, I fear the worst is yet to come with the hassle of insurance, family (m/c aren't safe speech), & of course the possibility of getting sued........ Just let us know what if anything isn't covered I'm sure we can find the parts laying around the Org!

I'm actually considering getting rid of the bike. I can't ride it here in LA the way I did in Alabama... and the Hollywood streets, namely Hollywood Blvd and Sunset (on the famous strip sections) are very slick. I almost ate it a few times before actually going down for real on Friday. I'm not scared to ride at all, and I rode the bike home today after taking the spill. It's just not practical for me to keep the bike even though I love it. I think I should just consider myself lucky enough that I was able to walk away from a crash that could have been so much worse... and I'm also lucky enough to even own a Hayabusa to begin with since many only dream of riding such a badass machine.

But I think it's time to cut my losses and get the bike looking new again and just sell it... or try to sell it as is. If anyone is interested in the bike, let me know. My mind is made up to sell. It's the best thing for me to do.

Yep, it doesn't take much for a crunch to spook ya good.

There's other places to ride than the busiest streets in town and we'd love to show them to ya. I'd guess those streets are some of the most dangerous ones in town considering their condition, tight quarters and the people driving on them It's definitely a different world here.

Don't be too hasty.

Only you know what's good for you, but let's try enjoying the scenic route a time or two before you do something drastic. Besides, it's not much safer driving a cage around here... it just takes twice as long to get anywhere.

Godspeed your recovery... (and your Busa's!)

..., trip
