Went down in Hollywood! (not a joke!)

Glad you're o.k. Pan. You're right, if a crash is going to happen, at least it was a cool spot. Heal up, fix the bike, and ride on, if not on the Busa, then a smaller bike

Glad to hear you are mostly OK! Thank god for your helmet. You have heard the gear speech 20 times over and still resisted??
Don't sell your bike, fix her up and keep going. Just learn to adapt and ride to the conditions you are in. Go out of town to open her up and go through some twisties. I have read another post when you wanted to sell her for a Gixxer 1K I believe. You will never get this out of your blood now. Once you have a bike this fast everything else is just a comparison to it. You will be kicking your self for many reasons if you get rid of it. Stick to the ford fiesta you have and think for a little bit. Post up a list of what you need. I also have a stock screen if you want one. Heal up my friend! Motrin and more hot bathes!

Just think what those knees and arms would have looked like if you were doing 85 instead of 35? You'd be up in the trama center this morning betting skin grafts and maybe even having the pleasure of wearing knee braces the rest of your life. Not flaming you on your choice to not wear protective gear, just giving you food for thought and hopefully get you thinking about how careless it is to straddle one of those things without protecting your body as best you can.

Sorry about your crash dude! I've been there and done that a number of times and it sucks! Although I've barked up more than one suit of leathers, I've never been seriously enjured. But it does make you walk funny for a few days! Heal up quickly and maybe give some more thought to giving up your scooter. Give us a list of what you need. I have some busa parts that may help and I'm sure others do as well?

NEVER make a decision when in pain. It is the most basic of human instincts to avoid pain, i.e. "don't ride a bike because you might wreck".

Keep the bike, ride it recreationally on some of the reputedly most beautiful roads on the planet that are in that state, and remember that if you were simply replacing a set of riding gear and some plastics right now you probably would never even consider selling the scoot. You're young and most of us have had to have mortality tap us on the shoulder at some time to get our attention and learn we are NOT bulletproof and it DOES happen to us and it IS permanent if you're not lucky. Those of us still posting have been lucky some times and smart a lot of times.

Dude, I can't believe you survived all these months through rednecks in 4 wheel drives and go to Hollywood only to be wiped out by some Beverly Hills b1tch whose fuzzy little kickdog jumped off her lap and startled her! BAD wrong...

Anyway,if you were covered from boots to helmet when you hit the pavement, you would just be excited about picking out replacement gear at NewEnough right now! So hang in there, heal up, and think about it before you do it.

Glad you survived with only minor wounds....

You need a nice Motard in the city to be super nimble, then you would be able to dodge those pesky Suburbans and Lexus.

(Charlesbusa @ Nov. 17 2006,17:45) Sorry to hear dude!

Was going to meet you tomorrow, but maybe next time.

Your helmet is trash now.  If your insurance pays, claim the helmet as well as the bike.  Protective riding gear is almost always covered.
+1 since California requires you wear a helmet they have to replace it if there is ANY damage to it

Sorry that you dumped your bike...gear would have made it a lot easier on you

(PaNDeM1C @ Nov. 18 2006,03:04) I'm actually considering getting rid of the bike. I can't ride it here in LA the way I did in Alabama... and the Hollywood streets, namely Hollywood Blvd and Sunset (on the famous strip sections) are very slick.
Dude, I have to disagree here.

There isn't any better riding ANYWHERE than in SoCal. The weather is perfect 99% of the time. Unlike Alabama there are no trees in the canyons to hinder your view, other than mountainsides, you can see thru the corner. There are very few large animals in the SoCal desert, unlike Alabama with plentiful deer. And the number of twisty roads can't be equalled anywhere!

If its the city riding that you're talking about, you have to be 100% focused. You cannot ride in LA distracted or just "cruising". The advantage is that it WILL take you an hour longer to go anywhere in a cage. Splitting lanes in Cali is a huge advantage.

There are 4 tracks that are within 2 hours, Buttonwillow, Streets of Willow, Big Willow, and Fontana. If you want to end your street riding and only do trackdays, this is the place. Also, Parumph is about 4-5 hours away.

In the end you must do what is best for you. Riding in LA isn't for the casual rider. You have to be on alert. In the end though, I think you'll end up regretting living here and never tasting the sweet canyons...

Glad to hear your ok man. And even tho i wouldnt mind another busa fix it and ride it. Also GET SOME GEAR nice pair of armored pants wont run you that much and theyll save thoes knees next time something happens. Always falls on a bike. Doesnt matter where you ride but no reason to stop having fun. You only live once and only here for a short time. Enjoy it. You can get hurt getting out of bed in the morning. Regrets suck

Glad yer ok Panhead... frigging jump on that group buy of Kobe gear would ya? It'll protect you from those male nurses that want to strip you down and inspect things... no what'i mean vern?

lol - so glad you're ok dude...

glad to hear your ok bro. Take a month or two off and then make a decision about selling your baby

Glad you are not hurt worse than you are. I wont get on the gear bashing wagon although the ones who are just care about you and don't want to see you hurt in a spill. + 1 on letting things calm down a bit before making the decision to sell your busa. Get well soon.
