What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Love those old smokers.....my old RD400 with pipes on it snapped and cracked happily..

After months sitting, I finally rode mine to work last night. My trusty TPMS sensors said both tires had low pressure, so I parked it at work and went to air up the tires on my break. I was airing up the rear when I saw a spot that looked to be dirty, but turned out to be paint peeling. I think I shed a tear. Looks like when I installed my rearsets and hydraulic brake switch, a drop of fluid got on the paint and I didn’t notice. It had been on the paint since then and ruined a spot. I want to kick myself for this:(! Makes me sick to see a perfect tail piece with this kind of imperfection.

Not a damn thing! Found out the Busa won’t be ready until tomorrow (even though they’ve had it since Saturday and my appt. was for 0800 today) cuz apparently the one and only ‘tech’ they have that can change fork seals called in sick..... I so hate dealing with someone else working on my bikes and except for tire mounting and fork seals, I don’t. I (did) have a trusted CBX mechanic swap out the clutch packs, and convert the ignition on the 79 to a full Dyna setup, coils, ignitors, wiring, the works. Other than that I do everything I can. I even managed to change the alternator/stator on the 79 when it went bad (after 37 years). Thankfully I guess, the Busa has been so trouble free that its only been in a shop for tire mounting/balancing, new stems and fork seals now, three times, and that’s over 13 years and over 65,000 miles of riding. Great bike but crappy service departments!

Could try some light grit compound not like you can make it worse.

What the?
I mean, what kind of a Mickey Mouse outfit are they running at that shop??
Only one tech can replace fork seals . . at the shop I'm at, fork seal replacement is basic and we wouldn't even employ someone that can't perform to that level. . .
Oh, and if any one of us calls in sick, the Manager offers to take you to the Doctor's at the company's expense . . kinda puts you off havin' a sickie lol.
I hope it all works out for ya mate. It's gotta make a guy feel a little nervous huh?

Man that sucks!
Try to remember that it's only you that sees it and is concerned about it, I know it's cold comfort . . but it's all I got.
You should do into a paint shop (a well known custom shop) and ask a painter or detailer what the best course of action is.
If anyone knows how to remedy this, they will.

Thanks. I’m just hoping that there are no surprises in that they’re also installing non Suzuki parts like Arashi rotors, HH pads and a front PR2 that the parts guy said he couldn’t find, all of which I brought to them. I did buy seals and wipers from them though. :D The service manager never seems to actually be there when I’ve called or asked to see him. This time I’m told, he’s off for three weeks for an operation. It’s a huge multi brand dealer that also has a Honda car dealership next door. Its also where I bought my Kawasaki. The Asst. Service Mgr did say he’d look at reducing the labor costs due to this screwup. We’ll see.

I think it would fit a nice little sticker there. Kanji maybe or something else you like (yoshimura)
Stickers can cover several imperfections in color, and scratches. If you don't like it is easily removed, you can try it.

With respects to you my brother, fixing it is the best course of action, not covering it up.

It's just too nice of a bike to do that.

I know that's not the ideal solution my fr Yellow09. But what else could he do there, without needing a specialist to correct it. He could find a sticker that looks like the silver color of the motorcycle. Ι would try to see what it looks like, but that's just my own thinking..

I've done it already. I bought the motorcycle, with scratches on the left side, it was falling off the stand. I bought a new oem left fairing, but there was a black mark (the color was gone) on the front fairing on its left side( under the clutch lever) Buy new $ 500! Repair costs $ 100, but the white pearl color is quite difficult, it was probably not the same as the rest of the plastics. I had bought from the ebay Yoshimura stickers a long time ago, and thought to try it out. No one sees this, not even me, the money stayed in my pocket for new monds
