What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Notabusa, but my dad and I have been putting his Electraglide back together over the past week in preparation for a 9/11 ride. He has firefighter and 9/11 art all over it.
Almost finished with it today! Still waiting on the windshield, saddlebag lights, highway bar pods, a few badges, and wiring aux lights.

Been wanting to add a readily accessible fuse block in the tail of my bike for all my add-ons. Thinking of adding some driving lights soon also, so this was the first part of the equation. I carry a pretty extensive tool roll, 12V compressor, tow strap, zip ties, safety wire etc. in there already, so I needed to create some space. Decided to print a mounting plate for my pump, its hose and cord to mount in the hump, as I always ride with it anyway. Really wasn't happy with the first three iterations of this mount but it is finally in a workable state now. Should free up a lot of room in there. Just need to mount it up.

Waiting on Shamazon to deliver my fuse box, relay and woven loom to get started on the next phase.

Embarrassing to say I finally found out why I had a flashing “FI” light. It was not Fuel Injection Related. There was disagreement about whether the light meant “Fault Indicated” or ” Fuel Injectors “ . I’m guessing the light is just showing a fault, not necessarily the injectors. It was unclear to me that the ECU Stores NO CODES. When I ran the bike in diagnostics mode ( wire jumper at port) a code indicating bad coil connection cyl 2 came up. I checked, unplugged coil. So all my screwing around because of sloppy workmanship by me.

We've all been there at some stage.. The good bit i you found it. :)

I have been looking at all kinds of options, that one included. Fuzeblock, PDM60, Eastern Beaver, Neutrino etc. I am taking the low buck approach as a "proof of concept" for now. Once I know for sure this is what I want, I will likely do something more permanent and compact. Just drives me nuts to have the factory fuse block buried inside the fairing!

that looks clean! nice work

Mine hasn't been started since last October.

I thought about my busa today but I didn't do anything to it.
Is the Busa ready to ride bro , you back at work now I guess , so time limited to ride ?
What about your injuries , are you healed enough to be comfortable riding ? Those deer are obviously still about , so I am guessing , not the best time to go local riding . Can you go elsewhere to enjoy a ride to get back on the horse , so to speak bro ?

If anyone wanted to print one of these mounts, I posted the design to Thingiverse. Free to download and print (assuming you have access to a 3D printer) . I can only vouch for its fitment on the Gen 1, but its small enough (~5.25"x4.5"X1.75") I would think it could be used on just about any bike with large enough mounting area.

Thanks, Roadtoad. The busa sits with the rear suspension disconected. I intended to install lowering links but never got around to finishing off that job yet. The knees are just a bit tender but I could ride just fine at this point. LOL The knees might even be able to withstand another crash fairly well in about 8 months. They're toughening up. The deer are usually out worse than ever this time of year. It's either a female they're running after or a hunter they're running away from. I had one bound out in the road and run right into the side of my truck in October two years ago. I would take a leisurely ride on the busa here just to get the taste of it back. If I ride fast, it will be on a track. Expressway ramps are great but we don't have those around here, just lots of lonely roads with critters crawling all over them. Yeah, I'm back to work and very busy being a perfect art teacher. Now we have the high school and middle school shut down because of massive quarantines. I just finished off planning my online lessons for the week. I'm asking for a big fat raise at the end of the year and if I don't get it, I'm moving to a larger city without deer. Milwaukee, Madison, Appleton, Oshkosh, maybe even La Cross or Eau Claire. Love the kids here but living in this place sucks in every other way. More money would compensate. I could buy a decent house. Realistically, I think they will opt for a cheaper, younger art teacher that will probably quit in a couple years. That's ok with me too.

I love this, I will need to have some time off to see if there is space on Gen 3 for a pump

And my friend just received his bike and we sent both our bikes to be lowered.
