What percent of riders have been 150 mph

Theres a guy her in town that swears his 600RR Honda went 176 with with his wife on the back:rofl:
Ive had 182 on the GPS from my 04 Busa. Havnt tried it on the 08 yet. Thats coming this summer.

I know a couple of HOONS who definately did for extended periods of time this past saturday....no names:whistle:

Most posters seem to be ignoring the question but my answer is probably less than 5% of motorcyclists have topped 150 mph. I think we need a little reality check on this forum sometimes.....most bikes won't do over 150 and most riders aren't interested in doing over 150 even if their bike can do it. Our bikes are made for this and our owners are more inclined to do it and thats why we bought our bikes. Litre sport bikes are really the only solid category for this activity as the small displacement bikes take a lot of road to top 150 so you have to first look at how many litre + bikes make up the entire number of bikes sold and go from there. Less than 5% is still my best guess.

I guess its more logical to say going 150MPH on a busa is quite easy and doesn't even feel fast because the machine controls the speed so fast....I'm sure if you did 150MPH on some cruiser it would seem a hell of alot faster

yup, your right.
i topped out my 91 Dyna Sturgis, it seemed to hit a wall at 112 and it finally topped out (after a mile or so) at 120ish, and i was hanging on for dear life to the 16" apehangers, like a parachute in the wind.
on the Blue Buss i think i can hit 120 in 2nd gear

though, each has its uses.

I thought the same thing and the Trooper that stopped me confirmed it, man was he mad! I have done that twice here in OK in 10 years and got smacked twice!

wow you are lucky!!!

I have done 175+ a few times and either run out of road, guts, or common sense kicks in. Now that my license has been taken away by the CHP (3rd ticket on a suspended license) I won't be seeing too many triple digits :(

Howdy Y'all

Now, this is a Busa forum ... So my guess is ... Many ...

I mean, why bother to buy a Busa, if yo ain't goin' fast ?

Personally, I go 150 + at least once a week ... and can't recall not having passed 100 on each and every trip i've made ...

:welcome: to the org.

I would think the percentage of Sportbike riders that have been over 150 is considerable. Up in the 70-75% range IMO. The only reason I would say so is because everyone who owns a sportbike has, at some point or another, had a wild hair up their ass and said, "I wonder how fast I can go before I get freaked out." I know I've been there a few times in a few different vehicles. My old 750, limiter in 6th. My buddies 1k, limiter in 6th. My 03 Cobra, buried the tach. And the latest, my 05 Busa, personally only had it to 165 on the tach. Don't really feel the need to see if I can hit the limiter in 6th on this one, LOL!!!

I've been up to 188, dont really have the roads around me to hit 200, though I'm trying. Well I probably could but there are alot of cop stops and last thing I want is to try and out run the radio. 150, 160 is easy. I love gettin up there and just holding it. 170, 180 and up take some more balls but its not bad.
