I know you’re enjoying the tiger, but do you miss RJ? Ya must do . . .
What's missed of RJ Greg is the incredible acceleration , 2nd , and 3rd gear high speed wheelies , Russel Day long seat , The Muzzy exhaust Sound. Also standing out from the crowd with a very unique motorcycle .

What I do not miss .
Long oil changes / body work removal
Chain servicing / replacement of them
No center stand
Terrible wind buffeting in head winds
Cold hands due to Handle bar kit puts them in the wind
Always buying Race fuel / Ethanol free 92 octane to mix for best power of Tune by Rob
Theft worries on travel trips
APEX 6 wheel cleaning !

On that note though if it wouldn't get me killed by the wife I would go find / buy RJ back to Ride on special occasions.

The Tiger has turned out to be a smart choice as it checks a lot of boxes. The long stroke Triple pulls hard , and sounds fantastic . Roll on is very good when you do not compare it to a Hayabusa .
The Handling of the light spoke wheels / WP suspension is the BEST I have had the pleasure to own.
It is not the best handling bike I've owned just has the best stuff OEM.
I did not Ride RJ nearly as much after work like the Triumph . I've done very little to the new Tiger compared to RJ , and no plans to do much other than a RDL seat next year , and maybe a Slip on exhaust some day , but like the quiet currently .

I have told a few of my friends that know my previous bikes over the last 16 years the the Tiger is like a Suzuki DR650 / Yamaha FJR1300 cross hybrid :) Comfort , wind screen , power of FJR , but off road capable , Wheelie machine like the DR650

I went for a blast today around the usual route with the usual suspects... came across a band of highwaymen on V8 trikes.
Also a 1975 Z900 Kawa in immaculate original condition with 26000 miles on the clock, along with a mint Honda CB500 Four, low kms also.
Fairly cold day today for the middle of summer, low heavy cloud with an onshore cold easterly wind, temp around 16 degC.
Covered 180kms.
Pics as requested....

Excellent reply Bryan, thanks for the explanation, hey did you manage to keep a few trick bits from RJ? Wheels and tasty extras you fitted over the years?

No as sold oem wheels. Kept RDL seat and sold it to Miguel.
I have Titanium foot peg pins that were custom made. They did not get finished before I bought new bike .

Where’s that Nath?
How’s that battery holding up?
Hey Greg :)

Just down the road from you actually, straight between Kirwee and Aylesbury turnoff .

The Batts hanging in there , it was slightly hesitant a few weeks back over on the coast outside, i dont think it will handle a light frost...good thing its summer

I put in a little over 30 miles trying out my new wind shield. Much better protection than the double bubble it replaced.

Very keen for more wind protection.
Looks great by the way.

Most people i would tell to go the route of asking forgiveness later but in your case with such a wonderful wife who shares a bit of the same addiction i feel that you might actually get a little of the expected push back if you brought up wanting rj back but in the end she would probably be closer to being on with it then most wives. She knows all the work u put into rj and just seeing the two of you they what you've posted i think she knows what he meant which is why she didn't expect you would ever sell him. I know if it was me and my wife in the same situation that as long as the money was there and I don't mean in the sense we could afford it but just had enough in the bank even if it was for something different my wife would tell me to go the bike back because she knows how I feel about my busa. Me personally I feel like RJ belongs in your garage of for nothing but the occasional high speed therapy session but I get why u did what u did. Or at least I think I do  :laugh:
