Who Rode Today?

Recent trip to Lake George, NY. Lake Champlain bridge.

....but I imagine it's burned into your brain to be scanning the bushes for bad guys...don't f with the old soldier mowing his grass, lol.
I do enjoy mowing though, it's an escape.
Where else can I drink beer, drive in circles...and not get arrested??
You'd think so but not so much, I go into comatose mode cutting grass..it's relaxing...

That is until one of your neighbors hits their horn when you are cutting near the street, I almost dove off the thing....scared the crap right out of me.

I did however get out on the other yellow thing....had a good ride through the back roads, I was hard into a corner and leaning right into it when a wind gust stood me up right in the middle of it all...there was a few milliseconds of some serious scrabbling getting the bike under control and around the bend...

Then I stopped at my usual gas station and some guy in a Mustang walked over and checked out the bike. The first thing he asked is "what does it do in the 1/4?" (no "Hi or hello" so that annoyed me right off).
I said "I'm not sure, high 9s or so I guess"
he said "there was no way it could do that"

So I told him to look it up on his phone.

.............and seeing as I was done fueling, I started it up and rode away without another word.

After slugging wood around all day yesterday,

I went over to finish up a few things and the next thing I knew it was almost 1400...I told the senior lady we look after that I am leaving and getting on my bike...she said that was a great idea..

I came home, changed and jumped aboard the Bumblebee and lit out for the back roads...of course we have been spoiled the last year or so by not having school buses annoying us....that all came back to me at once as I encountered school bus after school bus...

I noticed a black suburban behind me and when I pulled into a spot to take a breather, it pulled in behind me...a younger guy all dressed in black got out of it and walked towards me as with a sense of purpose. He started speaking to me as if he was in a position of authority. (I committed no traffic infractions).

I asked him who he worked for and he mentioned the police, I told him I wanted a uniformed police officer to attend, he nodded, walked back to his vehicle and started to drive away so I called the police and let them know exactly what happened. A patrol unit was in the area and would keep an eye out for this vehicle (I gave them the plate number and a description of the guy and vehicle). I then met up with the supervisor in a parking lot and I filled out a statement.

I told my wife and she said it might be a good idea for me to get a "GoPro" and hook it up for occasions such as this...

I can only imagine how that encounter could have gone if say he did the same thing to an elderly or younger person...

What did he do exactly, what did he say?

Walked up, asked me if this was my bike and where I was coming from, that's when I stopped him and asked him who he worked for and wanted a uniformed officer to attend...

He was wearing SWAT boots, black cargo pants, a black long sleeve shirt with what appeared to be some sort of vest underneath and a black ball cap.

No web belt or side arm and the vehicle had no visible light package, antenna or satellite pods on it...

I was suspicious of him as soon as I saw the suburban pull up behind me.

Back out in the cut today too, about 10 passes each direction.
It's over a half mile
I rode a few 2' and 3' standups over a 1/4 mile, but am still iffy on swinging it up to 10 and 11 o'clock, I get there and let it back down, then don't have the throttle to pull it back up, and have to start again.
Of course it's me not the bike, but the thing gained 40hp, so it's twitchy high in the air unless you're smooth with it...which I am not again yet...yet.
This bastard wants to spin and bite over bumps on the back tire.
I nailed it at 4k and it spun and pulled the front...it really starts to get nasty in 1st gear at 6k, and it's in the power at 9k...right in a good balance, as said, twitchy.
This is a rough road too, as you can kinda see, you really have to relax and let the bike dance and wobble under you.
Cool thing is if you can walk wheelies here, you can do them anywhere.
Pulling them on the highway is a breeze after riding here, lol.

All the shine you see on the road is the same stuff tar snakes are made of, so it can be slippery.
Just adds to it.

I grew up doing everything I could to keep the front wheel down and the back tire from spinning or you would lose the race! I now wish I learned how to bring the front tire up!

boooo
disapointing ending
I was hoping he grabbed you and got Chuck Norris'd into the ditch
Interestingly enough the supervisor called me a few minutes ago and told me they were looking for this guy as he pulled over a car a week or so ago and assaulted someone and the description I gave matched him to a tee...

The cop said I was lucky it didn't happen to me, I chuckled over the phone and the cop kind of chuckled too...one of his constables used to work for me and I told the supervisor to go ask Ryan how that would have gone..

ok with it??
Hahahaha!
He is the one encouraging it!
He'll be the one filming too
There was a good size group of us when we were young, dirtbikes, 4wheelers, sportbikes, hardly-ablesons.
Most of us could ride at the same level and had the go big or go home mentality.
We pushed each other and reguraly swapped bikes.
I'm the guy that fixed/fixes and sets the suspension on them all too, so I end up riding everything.
Everybody trusts each other's ability.
If we crash, rider first, we can fix whatever we break.
I break your bike, I fix it or buy it.
It's just stuff, stuff is Alot of fun...but stuff doesn't matter.
I've been blessed with good friends in my life, and the Good Lord keeping our dumbasses safe.

You noted I changed my response as when I re-read it, it didn't come out like I meant it to...

But it's great you have a buddy who is matched to you, they are rare.

I like corners, he prefers straight aways.
Most everyone else sadly no longer rides.
So it's rare that I have someone to rip about with anymore.
He used to run a bar, 3 years.
It sat in the middle of a long empty straight away.
Every summer 4 to 8 of us would ride over, wheelie and stunt back and forth, show off, and walk in to a free beer like a rock star when we were done, lmao
So he still gets a kick out of watching the wheelies and filming them.
The wheelie/stunt fad came and went, but we did before, and did after just because it was what we did for fun.
