Who Rode Today?

I plan to head to central Florida tomorrow, it was also windy in Lakeland today mostly in the afternoon. I was going to ride today but I been painting the inside of our house and I wanted to get the bedroom painting behind me so I painted it today.

Took the KTM for a 400km round trip for a sausage roll which consisted of straights and 30km switch backs.

Just when I thought it’s exceptional, it’s becoming better as the kms start racking up.

Another day in paradise . . . these pics were taken yesterday at Lake Coleridge, 70km from my house.
Beautiful day with light winds, blue skies and 19degC.
Just played around that lake area for a couple of hours and had the best fun!
The Busa sat in the garage and sulked all day.

Rode for a bit local today and man was it windy here in central FL
Tomorrow we head to Cedar Key and I’m hoping it’s not as windy!
Where you by chance at the gun show at the Florida state fairgrounds off of us301? Saw a guy leaving on a white busa as I pulled in to look for parking.

Nah I’m more towards Orlando. How was the show? I haven’t been to Tampas show in some time. Covid prices got everything messed up!

This was my first time, so nothing to compare to. Shoot straight had a large part of the space and had their usual cocky attitude I’ve experienced at their stores, so I walked away and ended up buying what I wanted from a smaller vendor that was there. It was pretty crowded though.

So the reason Shoot Straight had so many tables is because they put on The FL Gun shows all over. Everyone there pays Akkawi sp? to have a booth.. he’s a shrewd businessman but you kinda gotta be. I’ve bought stuff from him before but have only spoke him once or twice on pricing at a show and he did move a bit. Now the people he employs on the other hand seem to be very…. I’ll just say not friendly. They also seem to fear this Akkawi guy… it’s weird. I’ll check out the Orlando show from time to time but usually just browsing.
What are you on the hunt for?

Didn’t know that. That gives one one more reason not to go again They can keep their attitude and I’ll keep taking my business elsewhere. I was looking to upgrade my 8 year old ccw for the newer version of lower caliber, but higher capacity and did end up finding one there from someone else, since shoot straight employee didn’t feel like doing business with me.
Going back to busa talk, that was the first white 3rd gen I’ve seen and it did look pretty nice. Even my fiancée made a comment about how beautiful it looked.

Your lady obviously has great taste as white is the bestest color! Lol.

Took the pick up to a local coffee shop to meet up with a few guys I know...we were sitting there talking cars and trucks and I brought up the subject that I put some mods into my Ram...one of the guys sitting with us said "you don't think that thing is fast do you?"

I said "nope, I have a bike for that."
He said "you have a Hog?"
One of the other guys said "you don't want to know what bike he has....it's a land missile that no Harley could ever keep up with"
So I showed him a picture of the Bumblebee and he just raised his eyebrows and said "oh a 'donor cycle'"

I said there isn't a bike made that isn't susceptible to living up to that reputation.

My neighbor's new bike . . gorgeous!!
Top spec model with Ohlins and Brembos.
The dealer said he could have sold it many times over since last week when the deposit was paid lol. Even as my neighbor was picking it up a guy asked if he could buy it and pay an extra 500 over the purchase price, they are in very short supply here in NZ.
He paid $22995 incl on road costs, insurance (full cover) was $1500 per annum and he's 56 with no accident history, lives on a quiet street in a small town, no thieves in our town, we get rid of any that show up pretty smartly!
