Who Rode Today?

Currently on my 800km journey to find decent fish and chips.

Got out into the sticks today , ended up on the end of a 3 rider group for about 20 miles, the front rider was on a big BMW K1600, boy did he know how to ride the way he was going around corners and road position made following him a pleasure.I once went on a rode safe course where you go out with the police and they assess you and give advice etc and the way he rode reminded me of them

Rode through Sugarloaf, pretty popular spot in central Florida for motorcycles as it’s really the only place with elevation changes and a few curves. It’s right in my backyard so easy choice for me if I’m trying to ride after work.
I’ve rode Sugerloaf many times but it’s been years, I was going to Astatula Sunday but my phone was showing 70 percent rain so I rode through Trilby and had breakfast at Waffle House up on 50 and went home. Not sure if you’ve rode Trilby but it also has elevation change and curves but the road is only a few miles long. I plan on going to Sugarloaf sometime soon.

I got in 180 miles today, some freeway and some foothill two lanes. Was a bit breezy but otherwise, great weather. On the freeway I was casually cruising along in the sweet spot, 95 mph @ 5,000 revs, when a Ford Super Duty pickup came by doing 115! Wonder what his gas bill will be. I had to pay $6.09 for 89 octane today. My V1 saved me today too. Got a hit rounding a long curve doing about 85 and when the road straightened out all I could see was a box truck about a mile and a half down the road. Still, I backed off (I trust the V1) and sure enough a CHP SUV was hiding behind the truck running radar. Great investment that V1.:firing:

On a nice lil two lane in the country I came across two Hawgs parked in the road. There was no place to pull over. As I approached I gave em a thumbs up and they gave me a thumbs down so I pulled over. Man, were they scruffy! One had a very long beard and the other had multiple nose rings, lip rings and lip (bolts)? thru the area below his lower lip. He also had huge discs in his earlobes. What he didn’t have was a Phillips screwdriver to remove his torn up seat. Both bikes were really old and grungy (like their riders) but there were only two of them. I had a screwdriver and once his seat was off he found a blown 15a fuse. He said he could wire around it if only he had a string of wire. The other rider took off to find a fuse or piece of wire so I wished him well and I took off.

last time I went by there a buff was in the road.....I clocked him @ 30mph:shocked:

On tour one year my son and I were stopped behind several cars in Yellowstone NP because three bison were lumbering along down the oncoming lane. The lead buff was the size of a Hummer and the two following were the size of VWs. They came within six feet of where we were sitting! BIG creatures!

Took the old KTM for a stroll through the countryside which turned into pissing down rain for the most of it. One direction was semi clear skies and the other was the rain, wanted to have a look at a lake I’ve never been to so rain it is……….. Yep wrong choice, got drenched.

Great lookin machine bro , a mate tested a recent year (2017 or 18 ) Superduke 1290 , reckons it was absolutely manic to ride , wheelied like an open class motorcross bike and would stomp most things to 100 kmh , albeit on the back wheel !! The ride position looks like it would be okay , even for my arthritis knees .

I've owned first gen superduke R and this second gen GT,it's more spacious and racks up the kms whilst the twin is pulling you along with endless amounts of torque. Basically a street legal 180hp hooligan machine.

Position is exactly like the FJR & GTR.

Holy cow! Look what the cat dragged in.

I got in 204 Smiles today thru four counties. Great weather, nice enough to wear my mesh jacket and gloves. Gassed up in Jamestown @ 121 miles as there aren’t any gas stations on my way back. Winding thru a country road (they’re all country roads):D I came across this car down in a ditch. No skid marks anywhere and the CHP had already been there and left cones to mark the spot. Walking around at a place to stop for a breather I noticed this D cup bra laying in the grass. Wonder how it got there….
