Who Rode Today?

Rode about 50 or 60 miles earlier tonight. The area known is as La Cresta which is west of the towns of Temecula and Murrieta here in Socal. I just happened to come across a deer that appeared when I came around a low speed corner. It was about a 200+ lb. Doe and she hurried off into the brush to escape.

I went into the city today and met with a few other bikers at a sit down burger joint, it was a great time and after that we went to a bar opposite the beach and chewed the fat for a while there. Good times!
The sign on the wall at the burger place said "no tobacco smoking . . green fairy dust only! and don't forget to share . . "
cool place and good vibe, I don'y really get out and socialize much these days, but today was a fun time, gotta do it more often!

I took off the cover, checked the tire pressure and put the battery in...the thing fired right up...barely even turned over and it was running....

Took t for a half hour shake down rung and it was flawless...as I expected....

Over the long winter one forgets just how fast these bikes are...

Glad to see you finally got it out after all the snow you’ve been getting.

Just out of interest Bill, how much pressure did the tyres actually lose while parked up for all those months of Narnia?

I got in 200 Smiles today thru the Park. Chilly 60 degrees up high due to a strong cold wind from the north but a beautiful day for a ride. Lots of bikes out too, surprisingly. Talked to a guy riding a brand new 1,740cc (according to him) Hawg with all the bells and whistles. He’s planning a ride to Glacier NP in Montana and then down thru Yellowstone and the Dakotas this summer. Saw a funny sight in the park. A guy was traveling the wrong way down one of the roads on an electric chair with 12” wheels. He must have weighed 500 pounds or more!

Went out for a little over an hour today...the weather was great.

I came to a stop sign and turned right, as soon as I made my turn, there was a big doe standing in the middle of the road looking at me. I stopped and a car was coming the opposite way and stopped...this deer just stood there, ears up looking at me (not the car)...I guess it was the sound of the bike that made it look...

I hit the horn and it spun around and took off for the woods...

I thought of @Mythos and @sixpack577 and their recent encounters with "bambi"

Yep, they're out in force now. I saw a bunch this weekend. Be careful everyone. I talked to a guy this weekend who told me hit and deer and crashed like me. Only difference, he went into the woods. An 8" tree trunk was snapped (had to have been the bike) and the guy's helmet was found with the chin strap still fastened. The strap must have stretched and the helmet flew off like Marco Simoncelli. This guy got a concussion obviously and fractures to his vertebrae, ribs and leg and a couple others I think. He lived though and is still riding. "If I'm going to die, I'll die doing something I love," he said. ...maybe how it works is after you crash, you have to switch to a more comfortable, less fast bike and the odds even out! :D
