Who Rode Today?

I added a little more distraction that was self imposed. I had gone bluetooth. But the helmets that came with it were Honda hardwired setup. Works brilliantly for the onboard system. But you can't pipe in phone functions. All you can do is hear that your phone is ringing. You can't answer it. And I'm always fielding calls it seems.

So I was casually looking at helmets. 2 days before I am set to leave, an ad pops up located an hour away. 2 brand new Sena helmets. Never worn. So I did a little research and thought WTH, not top of the line, but not top of the line pricing either.

We chat. Agree to meet halfway. The day before I leave. Met him. Dude was straight up. Helmets were legit brand new but I didn't need 2 of them.

Nope both or no deal.

Sort of anticipating this, I brought some cash with me.

I'm like dude I don't even know if I like these helmets and I don't even have a passenger.

Nope. Both or nothing.

I low balled him the chyt out of the pair of helmets. And pulled out crisp $100s. He said nope. So I walked. His wife apparently vetoed him as he called me as soon as my door closed.

OK deal.

So now the day before I'm set to leave I have one helmet I have to figure out how to work, and one I don't even need. Up til 11 the night before, charging, updating firmware, pairing, linking up all that chyt.

And off I go next day. Spent about 300 miles trying to intuitively figure the helmet/Honda world out. When you're by yourself for 300 miles you can't call yourself very easy. Lol.

So by the time I hit Chattanooga (day 2), I thought it was sorted. Rain came in Chattanooga. Hard! Heavy traffic, road construction etc, was a lot of focus needed. Got on the other side of Chattanooga which is pretty much all foothills and rising elevation. Still raining like hell. So I'm now using my phone in my helmet to book a room an hour or so out. I'm getting tired from Chattanooga.

Freaking phone starts taking calls, text, VMs. I had all these tones going off, and this canned voice asking me if I'd like to have my text read to me. I'm like how the hell do I turn this off!

Never figured it out. So it was master volume down to shut the phone up. Lol

But now you can't hear the Nav. Which I really needed!

So let's add some Twisties to that.

So that was a lot of new chyt to manage that I did to myself.

I felt old by the end of that day!

Since then, I'm now a full supporter of modular helmets. Helmets have stepped up their games since my last purchase. More new chyt to make normal. But man you really can do a lot with Bluetooth now.
………. And the voices in your head keep driving you crazy……….wait, that’s the phone……

Tech can be good and a pain in the arse all at the same time

I went for a short 60km blast today . . up to the Sheffield Pie Shop, famous in NZ for amazingly yummy pies!
It's winter and only 9 hours of daylight, 12 degC today!
Take note @SSGT_B . . . it's a trip you need to make from Texas to NZ lol, WORTH it for the PIES!!!!

I'm off the bike for a few days until my leg gets better as I don't want to risk dropping the bike at a stop....

So.....my ECU is off to Moore Mafia tomorrow to sort out the AFR mapping due to my Bazzaz crapping out....

You may want to put in the notes that you would like your injectors to taper off, not turn off...and hope they listen.
Their flash and tunes are grear...other than their lighswitch like on/off throttle settings.

Still 90's here too...but 80's overnight, lol
We got a 20 minute thunderstorm on Sunday, heavy rain...and in an hour you couldn't tell, humidity had fallen to 55%, and is back in the low 30's now.
It's not terrible, but not comfortable riding weather, even overnight.

I went out and killed a few bugs

I was flying down a country road I frequent and the sock covering my MC reservoir came off and went onto my clutch lever, crazy what air flow will do
I even found a live bee in my intake, don’t know where I picked it up but it’s probably a long way from home
