Your 1 stop post for all the info...

Anyone riding up thru Albuquerque? CrazyCowboy and myself will be riding out Thursday morning (0530-0600) from Albuquerque heading North to Copper Mtn area. We will be taking Hwy 285 up (not I-25). Let me know if you wanna hook up.

chev982, depending when zukracer gets to Fayetteville on Thursday, we may not make it to Denver until 8 or 9 pm....(really about the time the ole city comes alive) I'd hate to hold you guys up. The diamond is right downtown, not to far off I-70, and the talent there is extreme....(word of caution to everyone: Denver does not play well with alcohol and driving, please, please be careful!!) We may need one of the Denver guys to start "collecting" us as we arrive. Copper Mountain is about 70 miles from Denver, beautiful drive. I had planned on making the condo Thursday night, however, I think Denver would be a great meet point for all Thursday arriving members. Big caravan to copper....my cell phone is 479-263-0221.
Where is everyone looking at staying in Denver late Thursday/early Friday morning..?

For those staying in Denver Thursday night, may I suggest the Denver West Marriott, right off I-70 on the western side of Denver (actually in Golden) as you start the climb out into the mountains. Pricey but nice. There is also a La Quinta and some other budget priced accomodations in the area. Kind of gets you out of the city, much more relaxed...let me get some phone #'s and I will post them up.....

heard the west side wasnt necessarily the place to stay .... ie. if its not nailed to the ground it might grow legs? and I'm all for a budget minded place in the $50/night category if we can find one. I was leaning towards something near the airport but havent made the reservation just yet

me? I'll be at the resort for the event, then hopefully borrowing some ground at Chev's spot on sunday night.

The western suburbs of "Denver proper", you are right. Not good. I'm speaking of the way west suburbs, Arvada, Golden, Lakewood....very nice, at times fairly upscale. I-70 and Wadsworth or west is great. These are the last suburbs before the actual start of the climb into the high country. Zuk, the hotels right around DIA are very nice, just on the extreme east side of the city. The airport is way out east, I use to dove hunt that land as a kid. You're not taking her to the Mon Chalet? (lol). Better not, or you will be buying a "love swing" for the house...

In my humble opinion, the Grand Lake run should not be missed....you will be awestruck. Some of the most beautiful country in the world. When I was a kid, the Hells Angels would meet in Grand Lake every July 4th. Etched in my brain!

Is someone bringing a grill? Or does the campsite have one we can use? Is Saturday evening a goodtime for the cookout? Who would be interested in this?

ok, here are the #'s: La Quinta, 3301 Youngsfield, Golden, Co.  303-279-5565....... or: Denver West Marriott, 1717 DenverWest blvd. Golden, Co.   303-279-9100. Very nice area, both right off I-70....I will have a grill but the camp spots are well equipped....
