Mandatory stop at the overlook on the south side of The Little Dragon

This canyon was burned out in a 2015 brush fire, created wide open sight lines - and it grows back quick. No trees at this elevation.

No, it never gets old.

Fun part is these are our foothills before we get to the mountains. Mountains are fun, but foothill roads can be super twisty

This is as far south as we're going to go on this loop, we've ridden about 100 miles south on twisty roads, and we're going to head back north for our day loop. The main road through this region is Highway 49 and that's where all the traffic & towns are, we've managed to ride all back roads and stay off the main highway all day.

Bear Valley Rd - Hornitos Rd

This section is not quite as exciting, it's just rolling foothills

But there's no people and all the creeks are flowing with water.
