I never mentioned the United Nations, I mentioned NATO....the US has always engaged NATO for buy in before getting involved into a conflict...You are kidding right?
Ever heard about a guy named Qasem Soleimani?
Ever heard about Trump cancelling the Iran deal?
You will probably reply with Trump never started a new war, which is correct, but don’t talk about conflict or ever asking the United Nations for any kind of permission. In fact, he threatened to abandon them.
Sorry I forgot, you are Canadian a country who is committed to the guidance from the United Nations, who in turn is guided by the USA.
Let’s stop blaming Biden’s exit of Afghanistan, the United Nations made the decision to end the war.
LOL
Your last sentence at least means we have something in common. But this time you are right, you referred to NATO and I mistakenly read UN. Anyway, pretty much the same applies to NATO, Trump threatened to withdraw twice and the US has the leading role both in direction as well as financial contribution.I never mentioned the United Nations, I mentioned NATO....the US has always engaged NATO for buy in before getting involved into a conflict...
Being with NATO made the US have a stronger stance to go into a country......Somalia, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Kosovo, Afghanistan were all US driven conflicts with NATO buy in....it's more fun when you get the rest of the wolves involved...
If you see the above conflicts, Canada was there in some capacity standing beside the US...not because the US directed us, because we are staunch allies.
Afghanistan was under ISAF (NATO) direction...I had a patch on my uniform that said so.
I don't know who is blaming the current administration-certainly wasn't me.
Sometimes I think you just like to argue over almost anything...
It was fortunate he got ousted before this was realised...nationalism of a country only serves to isolate. History has taught us that at least.Your last sentence at least means we have something in common. But this time you are right, you referred to NATO and I mistakenly read UN. Great to hear that Bryan....My son is out , and in Qatar currently .
Hi. + 1000 for that. I have no news of my grand son yet. My son in law went there a few days ago the help with the evacuation.Great to hear that Bryan....
No worries Bee I’m one of the first to raise my hand when I am wrong. Probably why my empathy runs a little low towards those who have to be right at all costs, even when they know they are wrong. It was fortunate he got ousted before this was realised...nationalism of a country only serves to isolate. Wait a minute.....did you just say I was right about something???? I'm writing this down on my calendar...

I’m not really qualified to answer that. Personally my thoughts lean towards the Afghanistan Papers, it is obvious that we had four administrations mismanage the entire mission over 20 years. I believe this is the main reason it is ending the way it is.@jellyrug wouldnt it still be bidens fault? Hes the bus driver who's asleep at the wheel... if I had U.S citizens trapped in a country that is going to go to hell I'd disregard everything nato has to say and save my fellow americans with any means possible... hes the president he has to make those tough decisions and the death of those soldiers rest plainly on his shoulders... even if we had another president that was in power and the exact same thing happen those lives are on his/hers shoulders.
Biden trying to pass the buck or whatever poor excuse he is making is frankly disgusting. I'd be extremely mad if one of my sons or daughters were killed at that airport for a president who cant even take question or read a paragraph without having to stop and collect his empty headed thoughts... Special force are trying to fund their own mission to save U.S citzens but you wont hear about that in the news...
I agree it's an impossible war to win without breaking international laws. I just dont agree with bidens way of handling it or the pull out they did.I’m not really qualified to answer that. Asked Bee who was there, why this was not obvious from the start, but seems there are no logical answers.
How do you fight an enemy who may be your friend walking next to you, or even your cousin? How do you this in a culture who has no respect for human life and no morals which the first world can identify with?
I’m not a Biden fan, but I am pretty sure the advice coming from those high up in the military involved in Afghanistan and others in the administration was taken in and Biden did not plan this alone. If he was given factual information about what was really going on over there and ignored it, I would 100% agree with you. I do not know if this is the case thoughI agree it's an impossible war to win without breaking international laws. I just dont agree with bidens way of handling it or the pull out they did.
Did they expect it to fall that fast of course not I dont think anyone really did but they should have had a back up plan to pull people out quickly and less chaotically. They still had the equipment and fire power on the ground to deploy troops to slow the Taliban so the main airport isnt a massive barrel to shoot fish out of. It's all sad that a war that long fell so quick and to rub sand in the wound americans lost even more soldiers during a pull out.
What's he running for? Here is an interesting perspective.

You would have to go back and read the myriad of posts to answer your questions as they have all been answered...I agree it's an impossible war to win without breaking international laws. I just dont agree with bidens way of handling it or the pull out they did.

I've met lots of ranking military leaders before who have lots to say but should choose to keep quiet...What's he running for?
What you fail to realize is former president Trump went on the record along time ago with these words. "Everything is a Lie". When dealing with lies that impact foreign policy and events of magnitude the action needed to have any chance of correcting certain situations requires taking action that gets under the roots of the lies. People forget that the intelligence agencies know a lot more about the specifics of a situation than most of us ever will. What you call moronic, narcissistic and other smears as it relates to Trump simply shows us your opinion. We are witnessing a very corrupt world that Eisenhower and others warned us about decades ago.I’m not a Biden fan, but I am pretty sure the advice coming from those high up in the military involved in Afghanistan and others in the administration was taken in and Biden did not plan this alone. I believe the whole Administration is to blame for poor leadership as to the exit strategy, but it is always easy to play Monday morning quarterback.
Trump was a moron, but some of his qualities may have resulted in a very different scenario.
Trump was a Viking, they absolutely do not accept defeat or losing, they have no empathy and will go to any extent no matter what the sacrifice towards achieving their objectives. They absolutely do not tolerate incompetence and normally don’t take advice from others. They are narcissistic and don’t care what others think about them. So I have no doubt he would have handled this very differently.
