Is BV in Harborview? what is the room #.. I have some time on fri if he is up for visitors...
Harborview  room 716
wink.gif
His previous roomie in 716 got a bit cranky one day...

James has a window seat now in <span style='font-size:13pt;line-height:100%'>room 706</span>.

He is up for visitors but you may want to visit early afternoon or mid evening... those seem to be the best times to get him at a more talkative state of mind.  Maybe / hopefully by friday he'll have the feeding tube out of his nose!!
It was <table style=filter:glow(color=red)><span style='font-size:15pt;line-height:100%'>705</table></span> last night.  Did he get moved again?

Ok... decent information first. James was doing great last night. Our best conversations and real responses from him tend to be late night... 8 to 10pm when they kick me out.

He pulled his feeding tube a 2nd time yesterday. When I asked him why he keeps pulling it out, he gave me his longest and most clear answer yet and it didn't take him very long to say it. He said, "How did you know I did that?" I said because your strapped back down and the nurses told me.

I asked him what Scootergirl's real name is and he said Teresa. After I said she's a nice lady, he replied that she sure was. This was the first time he could tell me her name off the top of his head.:D

Now the indecent info.  Those of you who know James in person... know that he is soft spoken and somewhat shy, especially around the ladies. Well, the part of his brain that was hurt must have changed that. He was all hands last night!

When I saw James last night, I asked him if he missed me. His reply was not a stare or a no, it was "heck yeah". I wasn't expecting that from him. Even though he was strapped down, he hooked his left fingers through my belt loops and would switch to holding my waist band. He kept tugging on my jeans. He caught a glimpse of my panties and noticed they were his favorite color. He then reached for my zipper area
wink.gif
...  I didn't mind pulling on my belt loops but reaching for my zipper was a bit much. I went to his right side where he couldn't reach me.

EDITED to protect the easily embarassed!

whitefire....overall...not a great idea. Brain and spinal cord injuries sometimes manifest themselves in strange ways. This comes as no surprise. My guess is that the medication is also doing the talking (or in this case, the feeling). The combination of the two changes judgement, sensory, orientation....etc...its like when someone is drunk or under the influence of certain drugs/narcotics, they lose control of their inhibitions and lack judgement. If the trauma is severe enough...it will change his reactions and judgement and a whole lot of other things. The brain is remarkable though in its capacity to open up different pathways.

But you should exercise some discretion...

my two cents worth....

Do whats needed to make him feel better as long as your willing to live with it, also it needs to be honest. If he doesn't remeber he can read about the fun here on the form later!

You said all hands, how is his right side doing?

I think it is honest... honest curiosity!  I didn't add to my previous post that during the same visit, he was touching my face and both my arms.  He wasn't groping me, just "exploring".

Thanks for the answers.  I will keep an eye on him but if he starts pinching or lifting up my shirt... his hand will get pulled away...

He received his first round of physical therapy yesterday.  They had him sitting on the side of the bed.  He has a splint for the right hand now too, so that the fingers don't stay curled up.  The splint is on for 2 hours and off for 2.

I got some movement out of his pinky the other night but not again last night.  There was involuntary movement in his thumb last night.  Although involuntary... it is better then no movement or reaction at all!

I'll post tomorrow about tonight's episode of "BV's special recovery methods".  Kidding... kidding... ok, only slightly... maybe the hand will move if I put it on my home grown pillows!

I agree but at the same time, you're both adults, if it keeps him focused and gets him moving? Honestly More power to you, and I think you've discovered a new form of physical therapy that will truly motivate folks to heal fast.

Hell, I'd say tease him more if it keeps him moving!!!

But yeah, a little discression is prolly called for, but it certainly isn't going to impede his healing any.

Just let him know that the right side is his throttle side ! He'll get it moving.

Okay WhiteFire! Put the delusions back in the bag! (Okay, maybe there not all delusions.)

I went to see James tonight. He was awake and alert. James wasn't very talkative, but I think that was because Fiona (The Wifey) was there too. I don't think he remembers her yet. I showed him a few pictures from the shelf, and he said he remembered one. It was one of the Oregon ride pictures. He couldn't tell in it, but he could tel me Scootergirl's name. I was holding several pictures stacked together, and put his hand up to pull the front pictures aside to see what was behind them.

As for the "exploring", he kept brushing my arm, like he wanted to make sure I was real. He hooked my pocket with his index finger when I told him I was going to talk to the nurse. He was trying to tell me something, so I don't think he wanted me to go yet. I pulled his hand away nicely, and he brushed my arm with his hand again.

He did show some movement in his right arm, and it was in a splint. His other cute nurse(Emily) said he's been trying to pull the feeding tube out all day.

All that and he never tried to fondle me.

I took my riding jacket in to see if he remembered it. He told me that I have a Busa. I did have a Busa, but it was about a year ago, so his long term memory is doing pretty well.

That's the news from tonight. Progress is still happening!

Keep the reports coming, and I fully agree with babuski up there...when James is a-okay, we'll needle him for his recovery methods...for now, a lot of that is probably a combination of the injuries and the meds
