buying a hayabusa for starters

That's exactly correct. They (bank/credit union) will hold the lien (title) until you pay off the loan. Then you OWN the bike ! Make a DOWN large payment(if you are able to) so your monthly pmts will be lower.
You are asking all the right questions ... more people should be as proactive as you.

Sounds young.... Which equals $$ in insurance. Go get some quotes on how much you will end up paying out on insurance. You will need it for the Loan anyways. Busa is a big bike and I believe some insurance company's don't even cover them cause of that. Which should tell you how many have made the mistake of buying one to soon. After all they work off statistics! State farm seems to be have good rates for most riders.

So far I've been lucky on my time on bikes. Hit one deer that was crossing the highways at night(not on busa), Forced off road from car not watching for oncoming traffic before puling out, and a couple "OOPS" tip overs. That was before the busa. Day I bought the Bike on my trip home down us 19 (stealership was on this road) I forced a lane share with some guy who wanted over cause the lane I was in seemed to be moving 2-3mph faster during rush hour. Wasn't a thrill for me considering I only have few mins of time on the busa. Good thing I had previous riding experience. Was making a left turn(on busa) at light that had two turn lanes I was in the outter. Made the turn the way you were suppose to by staying in my lane. You know the proper way to drive. Yet the pickup truck to the left(inner turn lane) of me want jump into my lane as we were ending out turn to get around the car in front of him. Glad I had some riding experience to get out of the way. There are others also. And every rider can tell you there stories and close calls. Notice none of that involved me acting crazy. The tip over(s) was my fault. It was an 1100 and heavy bike and being my 6'3" 220lbs (age early 20's)at the time wasn't gonna stop it. After all bike was heavy and I "Didn't" expect it.

Good luck though I'm sure you won't have any of these experiences while trying to get use to driving a "Tame Monster" on the road.

Good Luck!

I had a honda 600 and the control I had with that bike I kind of like better than with the busa...The busa is a much heavier bike. In many ways I miss my 600. But on the other hand the busa is a GREAT bike and I would not trade it for anything.. I felt so comfortable lifting the front end of my 600 because it was so light but the busa....Lets put it this way I have not lifted the front yet because the bike just straight up scares me sometimes how powerful it is...My 2 cents...

You really have no idea about motorcycles if you think that any of the 600 class are "weak" performing bikes. If i was smaller and thin i wouldn't be on a Busa, i'd would be riding a modded 600 or 750. Plus, spit happens and it takes alittle while to learn how to handle a bike. Don't be stupid, pay your dues and start with a smaller cc bike. Learn to ride the hell out of it, then, when you do go bigger you can actually ride the bike.
There's nothing more poserish than some first timer dork with too much bike in his hands. It's a waste of a motorcycle.

okay....now that were past the honest critcism stage.....say i walk in a dealer lookin for a bike, what goes on in there.  They ask me what im lookin for...i tell them, we sign some papers...and done?

?
Come on now... You can't be serious..... If you don't know how to buy a bike how in the heck are you going to ride it. You won't have mommy and daddy to hold your hand or wipe your butt for you. Or maybe you will.... Your questions are not even valid questions and you probally aren't old enough to have a drivers license.

Any dealer that I have been to would'nt sell a Hayabusa to someone with no riding experience. I think you need to grow up while you still can.....

how do tip overs happen. I've rode on busas plenty of times and never had tip occur...iz it lack of situational awareness and attention to detail??

several ways. one way is just slowly moving along (w/feet down) turning a little bit to go down a curb but say there is a lip to go up before you go off curb and it stops you suddenly throwing momentum in the direction your turning making bike thrust that direction. It takes strength and or size to MAN HANDLE it to keep its balance up.

Another way is doing a 5mph turn around and hit a rock w/frt. tire. That jars the frt. over and the rider has to adjust to quickly balance the bike. but if your inexperienced or are greatly under weighed by the beast you cant stop its momentum

Hell, a tip-over can occur in the garage or parking lot or what/where ever.

Guy backed into my '06LE in the parking lot at work(I wasn't on it) and caused nearly $4k in damage.

Seriously recommend you get some ride-time on a junker before studding about on the world's finest.

Buying a 'busa as your first-ever can be done, but as you've read--and as some have vehemently stated--it is not recommended.

Best wishes.

Oh, yeah...I forgot to mention...you're more than welcome to stay here at the ORG, and contribute and benefit like the rest of us regardless of what you ride. That's how we roll.

Good luck!
