What made up your mind for you? Was it all of our sage advice and wisdom or was it the $2,300/month insurance bill?

You'll be glad you went with a smaller bike, believe me. Believe all of us! Still, the 600 is no tame puppy. Ride it with respect.

And when you buy, buy with all the gear, too. Helmet, leather jacket with armor inserts, leather gloves with armor, armored boots, leather pants with armor, etc. It's gonna feel weird at first but have some discipline and protect yourself.

wuhat changed my mind was havin everyone..almost everyone ridin my nutz about not gettin one. It was just hard for me 2 listen because i know SMALL people that have tamed the busa..they just took it slo on it for a while..and slowly progressing with experience. So i've seen 1st hand that it can be done and i wanted to too. he's only 5'6 and 150lbs does that means a busa god or somethin?

There's always the exception, but usually the rest of the crowd of new riders with big bikes end up wrecking because they really don't have the skill to control the bigger bike.  Even if you make it through the first year, the second year of riding is a real killer and is much more dangerous due to the rider thinking they know it all and they tend to ride over their head.

Less powerful bikes are also alot more forgiving when/if you get alittle out of control.

no but he has limited his "experiences" believe it or not.. A 600 can bite you as well but it will take it a moment longer.. As you master one machine and move up, you get a certain satisfaction in doing so... by skipping all the intermediate rides, you will 1. never experience that gratification. and 2. likely never master any bike. (as much as they can be)

You do not learn to hammer down a 500hp ride, you learn in a 100hp ride.. master that and move up to 150hp etc.. as you progress you will own skills that your friend will never have..

sounds goofy but by taking your time, you actually have more fun, gain more experience and gain a different respect for machines that might just save your bacon some day...

You may catch flack from some peers... let it go... when you turn 50 and are still riding (and they are not) it will pay off..

BTW I applaud your choice... and "Welcome to the .oRg" busa or not, you belong here....

Very well put,you get the balls to ride it a little faster when you have it for a while untill the back end comes out at 40+ mph out of a corner and it is ready to spit you off, what do you do?  This is what goes on in your head " I wish I got a lighter bike to start on,I should have got something with under 5000 hp, I wish I had more skill"You have to know what you got so it don't hurt you.  Even off road I started on a kdx 220. Got my 250 2 stroke a year later and the year after that that got my ktm 300.I rode a 300 bofore I got my first 250 and I thaught "HOLY S$$$ this thing is fast" after a few years the 300 was nice. And that's my story.

does anyone here race hayabusas...if yes..just how quick is the acceleration from parking lt speed to the blistering almost 200mph hayabusa speed?

18 seconds to the rev limiter....

This ought to confuse you a ton....

I think you would be ready for a Busa drag racing before a busa for the street...

yes..i have one. Brand new. Just wanted to know the acceleration capabilites. and I'm goin on 20..just have a young mind..except when i'm on the busa..cuz my fate iz riding on those wheels

CBR 600 is the ideal bike, ride 1 for a year to learn just how un putt putt the 600s are, they are learner friendly, and extremely forgiving. I had a blade for first bike and soon relised i was too far up the ladder and rode very gingerly for the first year. in between i had many rides on my friends CBR600 and actually prefered it. rode it with a lot more confidence. Respect or not it will take longer to get confidence and understand the basic feedback and riding skills on a Busa than the 600.

ON THE ACCIDENT BEFORE THE GUY IZ THROWN INTO THE SPONSOR SIGN..WHAT DID HIS BIKE DO. IS THAT THE TIRE SLIP YALL BEEN TALKIN ABOUT WHEN COMIN OUT OF CORNERS

Starting to agree with the Troll theory.
