Carpenter Racing 1441 kit for Gen 3

It is no secret now that excpet power suzuki has worked a LOT on gen3.
Hmm…
Like taking the electrics from the already developed gsxr1k.
The qs from the 1k, which for some reason can’t quite get it to work as smooth.
New set of rims….. which anyone can replace with aftermarket.
And a new set of fairings and same basic suspension.
Same chassis, same basic engine.

I wouldn’t say the did a “LOT”, I’d say they took the easy way out and did a mid life refresh.

Kinda, sorta......

I don't think Suzuki kept anything exactly the same from the Gen 2 to the Gen 3, even the frame was tweaked with a different rake and the engine although the same CC is different in a lot of ways.

Maybe the swingarm is the same.....

Should they have bumped up the ponies? Sure but the rest of the bike sure works well.

That’s a good question… I don’t actually know.
As we have people on here from all around the world, maybe a few could chime in?
Point is, it’s not sold worldwide and once inventory is exhausted it’ll unfortunately probably be killed off also..

It’s a rough time for motorcycle enthusiasts and any performance industry right now. EPA is going after people and shops here due to the current regime policy in power…

Let's go back to the Gen2 forum, Bee... we can discuss how our bikes make more peak hp than the Gen3 does.
We should be thankful no political rhetoric has made its way into this thread yet...

I'd wager this forum stays alive due to thread crossing...if we relied on a specific generation owner to carry the entire thread, it would fall on its face.

Probably couldn’t make 1441cc pass emissions without neutering it big time, Euro5 is no joke! The H2 can’t pass it, the R6 couldn’t and many others.

How is it expensive? Have you shopped bikes lately? Most brands are $20-30-40k for top tier stuff, Busa

.. but are still Slower

Ya sure Suzuki may of thought of making the Busa a bigger engine but it's not as simple to just make a new cylinder block with wider spacing. They would also need a new wider crank and in return new cases due to the fact the pistons wristpin wouldn't be square if they just designed a bigger more spaced out cylinder block for bigger 1441cc+.

It's good we kepted the same platform, parts are extremely close if not the same. Piston designs have gotten some much better throughout the years. As far as cylinder blocks if your boosting yes gen1 style blocks are a better idea but if your going NA big CC and high comp then gen2 and/or gen3 is fine.

Factory rods are fine for NA but from experience with Busa Turbo/super charger kits, you better do rods. I got 6k miles on my gen1 that is as pushing 300hp and one day while cruising at 90mph my rod deciding it wanted to lived in my transmission. Rear wheel locked and well ya.... Hospital trip

Did you like to roll on the power and let the tq build on that engine?

You can make excuses for SUZUKI corp if you want to... but designing a crank and new engine is WHAT THEY SHOULD BE doing. When Suzuki designed the 1299 motor... what do u think happened there? BUTTT.... Suzuki has enablers that will buy whatever they pump out i guess so no worries from them. I dont care either way anymore, i HAVE a 600HP bike. that idles and runs great and does 100 precent of the tasks i ask of it. It wasnt easy though, and i would have been willing to build an entire new motor if SUZUKI did their job.
The fanbois will buy it on name alone. It's sad that they do that and don't push for new tech.

I was trying to avoid calling anyone "fanbois".... im glad u said it and NOT me. Years ago... i dont think suzuki could have gotten away with releasing a NEW bike with LESS or the same HP. But i guess its not our world anymore. It belongs to "them" and they are happy with what suzuki created. I was insulted. I knew we wouldnt get a blower bike or a turbo job, but i KNEW we HAD to get a 1441 to make the HP to stay current. It was do-able.
I'm one of these "fan boys" and make no excuses for being one either....Suzuki could have very easily let the Hayabusa die off and that would have been that. The fact they put any R&D into a platform that isn't a top seller or a top tier bike is something astonishing.

In a day and age where many bikes are not able to meet Euro 5 compliance or are not being produced anymore, we are fortunate to have a Hayabusa and a good one at that. It does just about everything better than the previous one and has that same Hayabusa modification ability to make it into anything you want it to be.

The original Hayabusa had a very intended purpose in mind upon its inception, that intention has since waned and owners have decided what its purpose is.....if Suzuki had come out with a 1441 engine, someone out there would have wanted more power and that would still bring us back to where we are right now.

The current Hayabusa is a blank canvas and it's up to the owner to develop it however they want to, the foundation is already laid out for them and the aftermarket will catch up to make it viable to do so....

I think Suzuki was very smart in how they approached the Gen 3....
