I'm sure... (this being said by a grown man that dresses up like a pirate and sits to pee)

Nothing wrong with pirates and everyone pees...just don't try doing those things while posing at the local gas station on your Busa while fueling up...

You are no fun! and you should see our "crew" nothing sacred amongst that motley bunch.

You're talking to a gal who has a friend that rode to Sturgis, then while staying at the Buffalo Chip, opted to do the "naked ride" to the showers  Oh, and pretty sure every Buffett show I've been to is way more motley than your crew

I get off the bike. That way I have a paper towel in one hand to wipe up any fuel that might drip from the nozzle as you are bringing it over the tank.

Here in Oregon theres a law that you cant pump your own gas. No attendant ever says anything when a bike pulls up and pumps his own but Im starting to wonder what they would say if I had them fill it up and made them sit on the bike while doing it to get that last drop in there. Might try that some day.

Oregon has allowed bikers to fill their own tanks since 2001. In the law it says, Due to the unique filling requirements specific to each motorcycle the operator is the 'expert' in fueling.

I like how Oregon acknowledges we are more intelligent.

The same is true, I believe for NJ.

It might have something to do with the fact that I grew up filling dirtbikes from a 5 gallon can, not something I did from the sitting on the bike position. The 'no kickstand" part was another influence...

I thought it was something like that. Not enough to worry about unless your doing a long ride with limited stations.

So far it seems most people sit on them while filling up. I'm too clumsy to do that. I tried once on another bike and just didn't feel comfortable. oh well.

its a little difficult to reach the gas pump when sitting on the bike.... therefore, ur gonna have to get off and take ur gloves off to get ur debit card out to swipe or cash to pay so since im already standing up why would sit back down to only have to stand back up to hang up the gas pump????

not to mention im sitting (or holding on....) the entire time while riding and like to stretch my legs when I stop.

I agree 100%. Plus, in the case of a hose still full of gas, you my might avoid getting fuel on your crotch! :argue:1

Well--call me stupid--but the thought of sitting on the bike with that gas tank between my legs--pumping explosive fuel over the top of a hot engine--well--it scares the day lights out of me. if anything goes wrong I want to get out of there ASAP! Besides--the thought of gas fumes rolling around my body is not a pretty thought! yep--I'm just a little crazy that way!!! LOL :firedevil:
