EV vehicles

Police are short handed and certainly don't have the human resources to enforce it.
Not EV related, but there’s another law pretty much ignored around here. 49cc scooters don’t need license plates and are supposed to be limited to 30-35 mph. People buy them, modify them and the 2 strokes cruise 50 mph easily with still no plates. I’m one of them. Years now and haven’t been pulled over. Not abusing the speed limit helps.

I'm unbiased, love them for riding in their slip stream with a bicycle for high cadence training on a flat circuit.

The last time I actually rode one, was on vacation in Bermuda.

But my wife always tells me those are for folks who have lost their driver's licenses due to DUI, or other reasons.

I know that is not in your case though.

Pretty sure that’s often the case, but a well sorted 70 or 100 cc 2 stroke is loads of fun. It’s my go to vehicle for quick grocery runs or even to cool off after mowing. I stopped drinking years ago, mostly out of disinterest.

The Tuono entices me to act like a kid, so it’s not out of the question lol.

I’ll ride a scooter, as long as my friends don’t see me on one.

Just jokin

There was a trend for pre-license teens to buy these 49CC tube bikes from "Peavey Mart" (former TSC) and ride them all over the place in packs so if the police happen to get behind them, they all scatter....

I've seen these packs everywhere on the back roads and even down town as the old rail line has been converted to a trail system...

There were three of them at the park one evening so my wife and I stopped to speak to them...the young riders were very polite and seemed happy someone was interested in what they were doing....

Of course none of them wear helmets or any sort of protective gear whatsoever......and they will sometimes take up the entire lane causing vehicles behind them to stack up.....

But not a thing has been done towards them,,,,

ebikes could take off in a big way if the young ones learn how to do a bit of maintenance and get their heads around them. There are a few getting around the town I live in, hippy types for the most part, greenies peddling into town to get the vegetables. A few trikes too, those look cool. In 50 years what will there be? certainly by then the roads will have turned to crap. You need a lot of oil to build and maintain roads.

Our winters make it problematic to rely on E-scooters or bicycles.....ice has a tendency to make people end up on the ground....

Living in the Midwest, I’m well acquainted with ice and it’s not friendly for any two wheeled vehicle, regardless of the drive system.
Yet somehow many people here ride bicycles all year, even E-bicycles...

I often see one fellow riding his E-bicycle in nasty, snowy weather with a trailer on it heading to the grocery store

Sometimes, when there is snow, or ice, a group of us ride together, at the same time, same route, while one is in Japan, another in Canada, another in the US and another in NZ.

In Norway and Sweden they do.

Tesla

It seems the general populace, or at least some of it, doesn’t agree with some of the sentiments posted in this thread. Despite his rather odd allegiance with Trump, Musk still has my respect.

Musk has great leadership skills. His immense achievements started from personal effort, but beyond that he has accomplished his successes through the people he surrounded himself with.

IMHO, no one with that level of leadership skills would vote for Kamala. It is a matter of there is really no other choice, but to vote for Trump.
