EV vehicles

Just took an Uber from London Heathrow to the hotel. Took a Mercedes EV, which cost me 2% more than an ICE, because I know the guy who started this thread hates them. That was enough reason.

Nice ride.

Driver says he has to charge every day at a charge point, which actually costs a tad more than gas, but he loves the car and the Uber plus tax incentives made it worth while to go EV.

The guy that started this thread doesn't hate EV.....

He just doesn't see them as a replacement for ICE nor does he see them as any better for the environment.

To go out of your way to take an EV just to spite the guy that started this thread speaks volumes....he's impressed.

And, the guy who started this thread has a terrible sense of humor. He always takes the bait though.

Any other differences online? I’ve wondered about myself, how I might react or speak differently.
Not sure......I'm much better in person as I can pick up on visual queues easier...

It's hard to read people by looking at type on a screen.....

World oil production (measured in terawatt-hours). Notice how we could’ve surpassed today’s production figures in 1980 already, were it not for a finite resource on a finite planet. Prediction (dashed line) is based on Rystad’s realistic oil production scenario (where total liquid fuel output peaks in 2030 at 108 million barrels per day and declines to 55 million barrels per day in 2050), resulting in a rate of decline between 3.5 and 4.5% annually. Data source: Our world in data, Rystad Energy

Simply put: there is no such thing as an “energy transition”. It’s a myth. All proposals, from wind and solar to hydrogen, depend on minerals mined, delivered and refined by using these polluting fuels in copious amounts. As soon as the extraction of fossil fuels begin to decline, you can bet that the production of solar panels and wind turbines will eventually follow suit. And since diesel fuel is also used to grow and deliver crops, the question whether to burn it to mine minerals for EV batteries, or use it to grow food to prevent hunger will resolve itself rather quickly. And only when you add our propensity for war whenever resources grow thin, you start to really appreciate the relative peace and calm we have today.

So it's been said a few times on this forum.....

I don't do good at humor over the internet....I have a good sense of humor in real life.
OK Bee, this time going back to London Heathrow in a Tesla. Getting picked up soon from the Hotel.

In the mean time, another humor test for you.

In England they give us “toothpaste”.
In America we get “teethpaste”

My wife has the same tooth brush...I use a battery powered "Oral B" and it works great...

Teethpaste? I would have never know that....we have toothpaste here.

Bee, did you know the toothbrush was invented in Africa?

Otherwise it would have been a teethbrush.

Pretty dry humor there Jelly... Lol!
After a nice run I picked up the Braun brand at Costco with the counter rotating head action. It's like having an industrial tool in your mouth. It has a light system that goes between green and red that you can see when you press to hard and over torque the unit.

Racist bastids..........

Yellow and black would have given you longer range and be faster.....
I must say, the Tesla EV was way nicer than the Mercedes EV. This driver had it for 6 months, charges at home, gets 250 miles on a charge. Happy, no issues, says he does around 35k miles a year.

Out of curiosity I looked up where the toothbrush was invented....Google says it was invented by the Chinese in around 1400 but the ancient Egyptians (5000 yrs ago) chewed branches of the arak tree to clean their teeth....
