EV vehicles

Sure, but if you ran the world, what would be your proposed solution?

1.) Multiply, pollute, blow methane, NOX and CO2 into the atmosphere at will? And keep doing that because all of this is just bad political greed driven by money?

2.) Declare World War III and reduce the population to something Mother Earth can sustain?

3.) Do nothing?

4.) Get help from those who have made this a life study, are knowledgeable, listen to them and use the information they provide wisely? AKA as measures to reduce the usage of fossil fuels.
You wouldn't like it if I ran the world....

Looks like a few companies are teaming up to explore the hydrogen idea....

Unless there have been big advancements, Hydrogen burns clean but is pretty dirty to make, much more than electricity can be. Also, it's the same problem with Hydrogen that electricity has, which is distribution. Where do you go to buy hydrogen on a lonely backroad? Finally, gasses need a lot of volume or pressure to carry significant amounts, so the range may be very limited. I'm sure they can make them safe, but we already had hydrogen vehicles in the 20s and 30s. One was called the Hindenburg, hehe.

That's one reason I think EV is the way to go. The infrastructure will be developed faster for cars, so bikes need to follow those developments IMHO.

I recall many years ago we had a few propane powered vehicles on the base and they were a PITA...I would imagine hydrogen would be similar. I remember the system freezing in the winter even though it used a warmer to keep the lines thawed out.

Hydrogen vehicles are already plenty with plenty filling stations in CA. The range is around 400 miles to refill.

Elon Musk’s opinion is that Hydrogen is way too complicated. He is probably right.

As to Bee’s comparison to LP gas, that is not applicable at all. They are two totally different things. Propane freezes at -44F while Hydrogen freezes at -260F. Not many places see -44F, so Bee must have been on a base on the North Pole.

Horses and dogs have amazing instinct. They know who they can trust and who they can’t.
I wouldn't say horses are all about trust, it more about being more dominant, confident and stern. A stud is far more easy to break, train and ride for a less confident person were a mare is well kinda like the human version.... lol

Pretty close to it....

Although the gas may turn to liquid and freeze at those temps, the small lines feeding the LP to the system did freeze....

So I was considering the new Ford Lightning. Ford dealers are charging stupid amounts over MSRP on these. And acting like they are doing me a favor ordering one for me. I have heard of 30K over in some areas. Here they smirk and say it's only +15.

Just when I thought I might give Ford another chance.

A loaded Lighting retalis for $93,700...and can only tow 5000 lbs...wth?
So it's basically maxed out with a car on a car trailer...and I'm sure that 230 mile range cuts in half doing so.
My 2019 F150 with the 3.5eb can tow 13,200 lbs, and stickered at 2/3 that price.
If Tesla can make a Semi that can haul the 80,000 lb standard(truck and trailer included)...where did Ford miss the mark?

Well there is a huge difference between the bottom and high end lines. Mine would be a working truck. Little hauling. More like an XLT line. Still as you point out, my $$ is on ICE until they get real about the pricing. I can burn a lot of gas for $30K price differences.

I was onboard until they jack up my get in cost.

The Transit Van which isn't yet available in EV, is priced the same as the 3.5 EB, so far on paper and sales pitches.

Most residential standby generators over here in the areas where snow and cold cause power outages use standby generators on LP gas.

I have also been around when LP gas forklifts had the gas line freeze during cold, the main reason being the expansion of the gas from the tank going to the motor causing further temperature drops. That was a long time ago though, technology has taken care of that. Could happen if you find an antique somewhere.

The Ford stock is rocketing, as they are now fully booked to the extent where they don't even take reservations at this time. Wait and see, most of these trucks are work horses and at around 230 miles I'm not sure how well that is going to pan out.

If we watch Mercedes, I think we are not too far away from the same range as gas mileage with a 30 minute recharge.

Interesting times.

When we were using these vehicles it was in the '80s so I suppose they were antiques...
