Wrong or always trying? Seems like wrong is continuing to use up gasoline when eventually, not in our generation, it's going to be a problem. Wrong is not trying to learn a new way.

Actually, personally I am working on a clean energy car which runs on beer. Alcohol content needs to be North of 10%. Also working with Coors to get the price of beer below that if gasoline. Stay tuned, we will publish it on the web, soon.

Ps. I knew you would not be able to figure out why Musk believes hydrogen cars are not practical. Hence not addressing what I posted.

Wrong or always trying? Seems like wrong is continuing to use up gasoline when eventually, not in our generation, it's going to be a problem. Wrong is not trying to learn a new way.

I would be the "devil's advocate" in this and mention that even EV use a lot of non-renewable resources in their fabrication and use......

They are not a viable replacement for ICE due to this fact....

I've read there are many countries wanting to open up protected land in the quest for copper and other materials needed in the manufacture of EV......imagine the South American rain forest going away so people can feel good about what they are driving......

I think the biggest change has to be the way humans are living and working.......at one time there were few cars because people lived and worked within walking distance....the invent of cars (and other conveyances) has unbalanced this life style.......and no form of transportation will ever rectify the situation and challenges this has caused.

What does a Trump bashing link have to do with Elon making the conversion from Hydrogen is a stupid idea to joining in on the use of hydrogen in the next year and already having produced a hydrogen car in the Model H. Are you proposing this is fake news spread by Trump. Or spread by "pick your source"

If we look at all the applications where hydrocarbons are used, I don’t believe there will ever come a time, when crude oil is no longer pumped. There is the opportunity to drastically reduce the volume pumped though.

I have not heard of a "water engine" so by the title no. But I'm pretty comfortable I've seen converted gasoline to hydrogen engines using water to control the burn of the hydrogen being used as a fuel in place of gasoline. And I'm not suggesting that is what Tesla is doing.

So your position is Tesla is not pursuing Hydrogen? It's all fake?

The way humans live is the biggest creator of the issues we face i.e. carbon emissions....the lust to live in suburbia and commute is what's driving this......(pun intended).

EV equates to money being made, i it wasn't lucrative, there would be no investment in them.......however, EV isn't a direct replacement for ICE in the realm of carbon emission and is generally a poor choice for many............... cost, charging and range are all real factors with EV, add in cold climates and/or hilly areas and you have even more issues to deal with.

They are quickly finding out all the other sources of energy come with a whole host of issues....nuclear has a few as well mind you.....

I know years ago a Canadian firm was working on small nuclear reactors that could easily be manufactured and positioned in 3rd world countries to generate power instead of the coal they currently use.

This is an EV thread.....EVs are on trial in this thread....not ICE.....we already know almost everything we need to know about ICE vehicles....

That being said, people have morphed away from living where they work and the term commute has become a reality......no vehicle is good for commuting, all of them have some sort of carbon footprint......if people were more concerned about their own personal carbon footprint, they'd convert back to the live where you work model.....

The car companies battles had a lot going on before the EV thing even got going... the exporting of cars and parts manufacturing to overseas competitors sure didn't improve the situation here,
