If I recall anyone running the factory exhaust when you complete your first oil change you need to check and retighten the exhaust bolts. I want to say its in the factory service manual. You can also install gen2 Hayabusa Exhaust gaskets in the gen3. The copper junk gaskets the gen3 uses don't seem to be very good. I had to remove the factory gaskets when I installed my Brocks system which came with gen2 gaskets. You have options.

So how do we know what will fit from Gen2 to Gen 3? There is a Japanese yoshimura that I would absolutely love to have from Gen 2
 
Basically, if it has sliding muffler hangers(Yoshimura does) it'll fit.
The headpipes bolt in the same.
The passenger peg muffler mounts are the only difference for exhaust mounts between gen1, 2, and 3.
You'll need to drill and weld in a 2nd O2 bung, or buy Brocks 2 into 1 O2 adapter.
Several gen2 exhausts have already been put on the gen3.

Hell I want down and back not up and back. Sigh guess hip cramping it is. My 07 GSXR1000 was way more leg comfortable

Yes, I would say so. So, the SATO's are very very racy. That meaning high and back even on the least extreme mountings. I mounted these on a vortex mounting plate to get them comfortable for me.

Gen2 Vortex rearsets originally were up and back only.
Around 2012-2013? Vortex changed the mount to allow up, back, and down.
Extra holes drilled, otherwise they look the same.
Or, you could try Knight Design pegs that drop 1" or more.
Gen2 CycleKats rearsets are another set with a down option, the peg swings 360°
 
I used Vortex for years and I loved them. If you want them gold powder coat them. The big difference is the SATOs have bearings and they are precise and accurate in movement. But your foot in a boot is not a particularly precise controller, so the Vortex are a great value.
 
Anyone happen to try Voodoo exhaust? Not planning on using the tip, mainly for the 4in1 header for new swing arm. Also considering the AT2 when available, even dig the muffler shape.
 
Does anyone know how far off the fit is for the brocks dual muffler setup from Gen 2? Yosh doesnt make what I want anymore and damn sure dont want to spend almost 3k for a used exhaust from japan.
