Gen 3 Latest report ..

Isn't it interesting how everyone's take on bikes are so different. He's had many, many bikes and swears by the RR. That thing was super quick and he could make it dance.
But our individual likes and dislikes on bikes is why we have a selection to choose from.
It Is interesting.
The S1000RR felt underpowered (relatively) but my bike at that time, a H2, put out 285rwp so unsurprising.
I marvel at the technology and performance of All these bikes tbh.Its splitting hairs. They all have two wheels and an engine and are all incredible in their own ways.

What is this list you are referring to?

Are we comparing 100% stock bikes or unrestricted and flashed stock bikes? Big difference...
All current stock liter bikes make more hp than any Gen stock Hayabusa. With a pipe and a flash, a Hayabusa can make the same hp as these smaller bikes do. I'm sure the table gets turned again if the liter bike gets a pipe and a flash. Liter bikes have made the same or more hp since 2009 and they weigh a hundred pounds less. The Hyperbikes have always had superior torque and high speed stability. I wouldn't want to give those up but I'd welcome more hp.

See, here's the thing...
We're not all into stretching and 1/4 mile stuff and road racing. Some of us leave it stockish and take it out of the city and do some long open roads with bends on it.
Let it breath out in the open where it was built for.

As a bike to strike awe and excitement in to those around us when we ride has faded now. I was hoping the Gen3 would re establish that again. But it hasn't.
Its released a nice, sensible riding bike that has all the nanny aids a beginner could ask for. No longer is a beginner getting a Busa as a first bike a silly thing anymore.

If I'm spending my hard earned I want something that's a bit special.. Not generic. Which is why I'll stick to my Gen2 thanks.
Understood. For many years I rode a near stock 05, and was really happy with it. No need to make too many changes other than getting rid of the speed limiter, and a few items like the pair valve, and exhaust. The bike still looks Bitchin, it still gets attention, I take really good care of it.

Others can very simply make themselves a fire breather with very few mods. The point has been made that all bikes can have the same modifications, and I agree with that. Do I want to ride them???......

When I'm in traffic and I lineup against another superbike, I don't see them looking down their nose at me, I see a nod, or a thumbs up, they get the same from me. Two maniacs sitting on two very different, extremely fast machines.

We (Suzuki) couldn't hold the market hostage forever. I didn't have any expectations about the GEN 3 other than it was going to be different from the Gen II. The Gen II never had the styling that I liked. That's why I've been on a GEN 1, 16 years. My GEN I does everything, track days, grudge match, long trips, everything.

We all love this bike for different reasons, and we all have our own tastes. That's what is so beautiful about this platform.

....If I could, I'd like to add it is a testament to a tried, true, competent and outstanding design which has withstood time and will continue to be the benchmark in performance.

Other bikes are beating it only because it is there to be beat...and those companies worked tirelessly and spent millions upon millions to beat it.

Well I've sat on it.
You definitely sit more upright. It's not a stretch to the bars at all.
It looks very smooth and streamlined.
The cockpit fairing screen is quite narrow.
Seen from the front, the bike has a very wide front profile.
Riders pegs are quite high.
The rear seat unit is bulbous.
Tank quite narrow, front and back.
It looks very, very nice, colour(black) and shape.

I would disagree. Not ALL but some and most are rated higher but heavily restricted in the ECU “stock”. Some do perform better but hard to compare a $25k-40k latest tech liter bike with a 2008-2020 Busa price point. If that’s what you want get it but I don’t see people complaining about a $18k MSRP Gen-3 rushing out to buy a $40k V4R.
