I don't follow the stats on liter bikes, @Got-Busa but I have been hearing the talk since I bought my brand new ZX-14 in 2008. By now, I'm pretty sure every Japanese liter bike (even the Honda CBR) is making about 200 hp stock. According to Google, you can own a 2020 ZX-10 or a Gixxer 1000 for about $1500 which is pretty close to what Google says a new Gen2 Hayabusa should cost. Of course, you can go to the Euro liter bikes and then you will be paying those huge prices. I'm happy with the Hyper bike torque we enjoy but if I were to buy a new bike, it would be a ZX-10. Maybe even a ZX-6 but hp wouldn't be the drawing card for that of course.

I've heard nothing but rave reviews of the ZX-10

0:30 First run, the tach is a little past 9000 and the speedo hit 265 kph (165 mph).

1:02 Second run, The tach hits 9500 and the speedo is at 280 kph (174 mph).

The tach and the speedo never stop climbing, the rider rolls off before any limiter is hit. It's hard to compare that to Gen2 runs because they usually shift at 11k or higher and never get back into the 9000 rpm range. The Gen2 speed runs look like the bike is pulling a lot harder in the upper revs than the Gen3. If the rider in your video would run his up to 11k before shifting, maybe it would too. Of course, we don't know if the Gen3 in your video has been tuned either. I would suspect not but it does sound like he at least has an aftermarket exhaust of some sort.

I'd go with the 14R. No hurry I guess, we'll know if the Gen3 busa beats it by next year and new and used 14Rs will still be available too. I think if it's stock power and comfort your after, the 14R is going to be the right ticket. Like you guys said, the busa looks to have bowed out of the top speed domination war and is keeping the spirit of the old bike alive. BTW, 06blue might have been the wrong name. It's Monty, now Grn14...maybe he was Blue06 back then...I think he was Bluebird at one point. Anyway, swing by ninjaforums and ask him about his H2, he has a recent ride video in the Ride Reports section. He's had two H2s now. I think he'll remember you although he had a serious crash and sustained some brain damage. I talk to him on the phone and he's been back to the same old guy for a long time now but IDK about longterm memory on everything.
Yep I remember Blue06 from the original ninja forums, he did switch to Grn14. He also went by Montana on another forum. I did read a post about him having an accident and planning to use the insurance money to buy another bike... and an H2 of all things? Talk about getting back on the horse that threw you...mad respect! I think I will head over and ask him a little about the H2's. I would love to have a boosted bike with factory reliability

@JoeSTi who sometimes posts on here has a crazy H2 he did a pile of work to...he has quite a bit of experience with boosted toys it seems.

The ZX10's have been beasts since their inception...in 04 the 10 was the first literbike to really challenge the busa for the street king title. Kawasaki has always made super fast bikes, I've owned many, but they used to always lack a little in the build quality compared to the other brands. Even my 06 14 side by side with my 04 busa I could see the difference working on the two.

But changing the oil on my 14 without having to remove a SINGLE piece of plastic is pure genius on kawasaki's part..... my busa was a pain to do an oil change on in comparison.

Good to know  When you venture down the boosted path, knowledge is crucial if you want to keep your bikes alive and reasonably reliable.
Exactly....although Kawasaki was smart to make their H2 supercharged...I'd imagine if one left it in factory trim it would be as reliable as any other liter bike.

Here's a good video Joe put out regarding his H2...

My 04 zx10 was a beast man I miss that bike...

The H2 is unlike any bike i have ever ridden. Its flat out scary fast even with just a pipe and tune. Its hard to explain but the h2 makes power in a very angry manner. Im trying to buy a second h2 this weekend actually. I think im going with a carbon edition and just going to leave this one swb, pipe, and tune,.

A 2nd h2 holy smokes you crazy sob!!! If I wasn't 250lbs and with a chick on the back I would own one I herd weight limit is 230lbs...

My buddy rides a ZX-6 and he's 230 lbs. I haven't heard the H2 was incapable of carrying a 250 lb rider.

I felt the same way about my 14 and my busa. The Busa design seems to have been pondered over more where sometimes the ZX-14 engineers must have said "good enough".

Unfortunately it’s all talk when talking “stock” bikes. Go have a read if you care but they are “rated” at 200 but don’t make that power. The only way the CBR makes that is the $30k RR-R model, the regular cheaper model (if you will) doesn’t come close. Most are because of Euro5 restrictions like all of the liter bikes. A lot of internet talk is FBO bikes. Anytime you go into the motor and do a full N/A or Turbo/Nitrous/Supercharger the Busa is still the top choice. Far more reliable and will support the power over the liter bikes that have issues and burn through clutches.. All are great platforms and much improved over the years so you can’t really go wrong with any of them. All depends on your brand and budget..
