Gen 3 Latest report ..

The first Kawasaki I ever owned was an S1 2 stroke triple....that was an angry bike....small but mighty.

Of course in my experience most of the 2 strokers were angry bikes...when I got finished with my '79 Daytona Special it was very angry, at 6,000 rpm it would just go nuts..I really miss that little bike and should have kept it.

A buddy I had years ago bought a Suzuki Titan 500 twin and then a 500 triple. I liked them only when I was (on the gas). But where was the decel? I didn’t like that. Brakes were shiite in those days and we needed some deceleration when (off the gas).

You forgot to add the crappy suspension and spaghetti frames...but in defence of these bikes, we really had nothing to compare them with.

Suspensions? They had suspensions? One two stroke I did like was the X6 Hustler. Tiny little fireball of a motorcycle. Outran any 350 around.
Not much for suspensions if I recall, my little Daytona was decent after lots of work...I had Ohlins rear shocks on it and Race Tech springs in the front, it was just OK.....I bought it for $500 in 1983 and had a lot of fun building it.

I started out on 2 stroke street bikes, started on pretty much all the little guys and worked my way up to the 750's. The only ones I never owned were the Daytona 400 and the RZ350. I had a banshee with the same motor if that counts lol. And yes you should have kept it... and I should've kept mine... to heck with the space. Darn that Jay Leno :D

Based on Akrapovics latest test, the Gen-3 makes more power...

Oh you will at some point...
That's true but in todays world, no one care about HP and top end anymore. They will sell what ever they build. The Gen 3 because of the electronics package and LED lighting It's going to sell no problem. Besides the difference we are talking in performance can only be seen on a drag strip.

I think the 14R will be available in the US for some time but if they're not, that's all the more reason to grab a brand new ZX-14R. I'm glad there will be continued interest in the Hayabusa because I plan to keep mine and build on it for many years but I see no reason to buy the new one.
Not true they are still making the ZX-14R just not for Europe and the Kawi rep hasn't heard anything about not making them anymore and like the Busa they didn't stop producing they built it different so will the ZX14R

I'd say if the ZX14R doesn't meet Euro 5 specs, it's days are numbered...

There are several sites in Google which are saying the ZX14R is going to be discontinued. It's fate will be similar to the gen 2 Hayabusa, Suzuki had a bunch of them to get rid of so they moved them to markets outside of Euro 5 requirements.

I care about hp too and stock hp is usually a pretty good indication of potential with mods. I really hope this Gen3 outdoes the ZX-14R but you would never guess based on the stock hp. I'm not buying a Gen3 until I see some results that the engineers chose to not address.
