Gen 3 Latest report ..

Have they improved any of the access to things like the Oil Filter, or Fuse block on the Gen 3? Or would that also be asking too much? This bike was clearly not made for the American market, or we would have them on our shores by now. Instead they gift us with one 3 months after the rest of the world has them. I Remember back in 1984 when the GSXR750 came out everywhere but the states, my brother and I rode to Canada to see one since they had them already.

#bastardstepchildren!
I had one but not until '85....

It was mentioned in one of the many videos the US market has the lion's share of Hayabusa sales...

You should have said Hermes made it. Lol!
I seriously doubt if I will ever see a gen 3 around my area I may never even see one in person....

I know of only one other Hayabusa ('99 copper/silver) around here and the owner said he was considering selling it.

I've seen a few advertised a hundred miles away (the closest Suzuki shop is that far away) and they seem to be on the market for a long, long time...

@Dancallun yes, I think so. On one of the Gen3 threads going here, there was a report of a Gen3 making 116 ft lb of torque which edges out the ZX-14R. 193 hp just 12 shy of the 14R. That was a Gen3 busa with an Akrapovich exhaust. I assume the fueling was tuned for the exhaust but a complete flash will undoubtedly adress a lot of things other than just fueling.
Yeah I love how the torque feels even on the gen 2 :)

This guy lost me when he told us he was pulling in the clutch...

Where are all the current Hayabusa riders and why aren't they out testing this thing??
that was painful watching that, he was happy to cruise at 40 !! then said "if anyone wants more power and speed that 187 bhp must be either an idiot or maniac"

as said above lets have a proper busa rider, if i had have planned ahead i would have done a Youtube blog on my demo ride
but then i couldnt have shown 140 mph - due to UK internet police

well i'm happy to be a maniac

It definitely needs a current Hayabusa rider to properly give a good report...

Almost every video I've watched has the tester saying "it's been a long time since I was on a Hayabusa."

We need a guy like @c10 or @Ac41 to go and flog one...

Shouldn't you be in the gen 2 forum...since you said you will never have another busa. Some people enjoy the videos since we are waiting on the best busa ever!

I didn't think we were restricted as to which threads we can go into....just because I am happy with what I ride doesn't mean I'm not interested in the gen 3 or like it.

In the last video the guy admits he normally rides an adventure tour bike but wanted to try out a Hayabusa...in the video before that, the guy has never ridden a Hayabusa...

I would just like to see a video of a test rider who knows what a Hayabusa is because they normally ride one...

You Tube is flooded with gen 3 videos, much the same as it's flooded with the previous gen videos, some are great videos and some are...well not so great.

Another boring one for ya...
like watching paint dry

Still looking for an honest 1/4 mile time and an actual top speed run. Seems all the initial reviews are done in England in controlled conditions on the same short runway which does not allow them out of 5th gear. No real regimented comparisons with other bikes. With all the hype about the improved midrange, I suspect this bike may fall on its face at the top end. I do almost all of my riding at 5 to 10 thousand feet so any n\a bike is down on power anyway. Just a concern that we are being fed carefully curated information.
