Gen 3 Latest report ..

I don't have a GSX or R on my bike...don't need to advertise....and the insurance companies here don't refer to it as a GSXR, nor does Suzuki.

I love my bike but......it is just a bike no more, no less, I don't worship it, I ride it.

In all honesty, if Suzuki called it a Katana, I'd still ride it with honor befitting the name. I will never knock the name Katana, I owned a pop up version for almost 30 yrs.
Mine sz GSX1300R and I’ve never thought of it as a Gixxer either

Well you sir are lucky it's still a gsxr in the US and insurance rates at 1340cc are so bad that's why people can't own one sorry to say it's still the top dog here... did you hear what you just said it's a GSX with a R attached you need to lay off the salt sir... maybe you should just take the R off yours smh ...bumblebee would be ashamed to hear that go ahead and get a slowtana then lol...man can't believe a busa owner would say that... this new gen sure looks like a GSXR to me.
Maybe do some research before preaching to loyalist then.

It has always been from the get go, GSX1300R not GSXR1300.

Let me know when a Hayabusa 40 years later is fetching 4 times the original purchase price from new, don’t forget what bikes laid the foundation to what you ride today.

Also for fun fact, they stopped producing the “slowtana” in 2001 so 20 years without one single design change.

...it was actually 2006...my older son has an '06 Katana....but it looked just like the 1999...he loves it....I offered him my 2000 1st gen Bandit and he said he'd rather keep his Katana...

We’re talking GSX1100S?.

Suzuki purposely put the R at the end to designate the Hayabusa as a Supersport bike. The actual year and model of the bike matters with most insurance companies. Motorcycle insurance rates are based on model accident and repair history. The Hayabusa is incredibly fast and heavy. It is deceptively fast and can get a new rider in trouble quickly. If it falls on its side you can count on a 2-3 thousand dollar repair or more to make it new again. If you high side it or send it on a long slide you will possibly be looking at totaling your bike. If you are under 24 years old, your liability insurance will be higher. It's the price you pay to ride a legend.

Did a little researching during morning tea..
Priced up a new Hayabusa in $aud. Came to $29k with heated grips package.

Then I went and compared what else I could get for the same price: (these are all new, current models, from the dealers)

There is a huge range of options available for the same coin. The Busa will appeal to a limited market here, as the split at the moment is adv/touring and crotch rockets doing local laps of the coffee shops.

Would I go and put a deposit on, sight unseen..... sorry, no..
I'd keep my gen2, (cause it rocks) and update my daily driver car with the price difference

KTM 1290 Super Duke R
Kawasaki Z H2
BMW R 1250 RS
Any top of the line Triumph Tiger
Triumph Daytona Moto2 ltd ed

Always liked this bike. Lusted after it when I was in high school. Most of the sport bikes back then were around 100 hp and they were fun to ride.
I grew up with a block mount poster of Dads old Katana so when this one came up, had to have it but now have a wire wheel model which lives in the house.

Only 100hp or so but they are fun to ride and love long sweepers.

Well to the young generation busa is a big gsxr least in the US maybe to all the older guys it's not they don't want to be in the crotch rocket category but it always will be ....but it's still a hyper Supersport and now its even more of a Race inspired bike with all this track footage popping up so it's more of a gsxr then ever I think suzuki did that this go around not to be just a 1 trick pony and it looks like I'm on a small list on here to get gen 3... one reason it's selling so well is the fact that they made it look like a gsxr finally and not some tourer the gen 2 to me was a let down after owning a 99 since having both gen busas even the copper king and both gen zx14s and a k7 1000 and 04 zx-10r had every walk of motorcycle it's a big gsxr at heart least for a big guy like me and I'm stoked maybe not everyone drags knees on one but all that matters is how it makes me feel...I might need to start a forum where it's safe to be a gen 3 owner seems like there's only like a hand full of guys in here that got one...and at 17k otd and 2k in swag its the best 15k I've spent on a toy ever ...well free toy that is!

I think you need therapy, and you never see a motorcycle in a psychiatrist’s parking lot so I hope you can get out soon before you burst. :D I also hope your new bargain bike is all you’ve hoped and hyped it will be but really man, Suzuki did not make it look like a gixxer. It’s a fine Uber sports touring machine as all Hayabusas are and IMO the second best looking. Oh, why would you think it wouldn’t be “safe” to be a Gen3 owner around here? WTH do you think happened when the Gen2 went on sale? Did they all start a new forum? The Gen3 has its own sub forum here just like the Gen2.

I understand it’s a new bike and all but being a dedicated forum gents like myself don’t see it worth being the upgrade even if it hasn’t landed. Basically happens with every new updated model, others want it because of the upgrades and others don’t bother because it’s not enough to warrant the price tag.

Horses for courses my friend

Gen 3 in black still looks similar to my k7... didn't mean the new ones just the k7 which imo was one of nicest looking suzuki made... guess I was spoiled starting off on a 99 busa at 18 Now I'm chasing that bike and hope I can get that feeling back with the gen 3 cuz the 08 didn't do it for me like the 99 did.

It don't matter what generation we are in, Suzuki who makes the bike doesn't designate it as a GSXR so it isn't one.

From your picture of your GSXR, it does bear a striking familiarity but we must remember, the same company makes both of them so it makes sense....

A generation 3 Hayabusa is what? A Hayabusa..........this forum is all about what? Hayabusas....there are people on this forum who have thousands and in some cases hundreds of thousands of seat time on Hayabusas....

Go back and read some older forums of when the gen 2 came out and the gen 2 riders got the same hard time the gen 3 riders are getting now....it's a right of passage and one you either get on board with or be driven crazy....
