Gen 3 Latest report ..

There's more than a few who ride like that around here...lumped into that fray are the tuner cars which are terrorizing the roads...

Riding like this it is just a matter of time before a major crash is experienced...the laws of averages don't lie.

If I want to get wild, there are a few back roads near where I live which have nothing but farmer's fields flanking both sides...even out there I've encountered the odd patrol car...

Do you really want to be riding beyond 10,000 rpm just to find power from the engine... Let alone the lack of real torque below that
but getting a bone stock gen 2 was disappointing after reading all the hype of the beating down of the superbikes not to mention its weight and uncomfortable, my gixxer pulled whellies at 7k at 100mph easy and it was compact to ride all day and that was a 09 model, the ergos and the excess weight on the busa are what's killin it from me looking at the Gen3. Its a legend motor gone to waste i really couldn't give a S### how fast it could go what i miss is how Far i can go!

Modifications and aftermarket is where the Hayabusa lives....and always has and always will..

Once the gen 3 gets sorted out, it will be something to be reckoned with.

I was and am a large fan of the Gixxers as I spent a lot of time on one on the track....

I rode a new Gixxer 1k and found it to be rather twitchy on the roads unless they were super smooth and it wasn't great when it was windy out as it got blown all over the place. Out on the hiway even a pick up truck blew it around..

On the other hand, my Hayabusa is rock solid on pretty much any pavement and the wind or passing trucks hardly affects it at all...

I've said it before and will again, if I was in the market for a new bike, a gen 3 Hayabusa would be my first pick...

interesting what model gixer?

Americans do as they please... incredible as it may seem, they must have some new amendment in their constitution that frees them up to street race on their highways and byways I guess.
In any commonwealth country like NZ, Canada, Australia etc, the cops will chase you down and take your bike and your license on the spot.

Yep. License gone on the spot, call your mum for a lift home. Your bike is in the crusher. And you'll be notified of your court date soon. Expect to be walking for 18months.

South Oz even worse than ever .., 50 kph over in a 60 kph or less , go to jail and vehicle at least impounded , likely crushed , and 80 kph over in a 100 kph or 110 kph zone , same jail etc . I dont speed in built up areas no more anyway cos of crazy bastards in tin tops .

Here in Ontario Canada...50 kms over the limit and you lose your bike for 14 days, your license for 30 days then off to court where you could lose your license 1 to 3 yrs and face $10,000 fines

In areas where it is 80kms/hr all you need to be going is 40kms/hr over the limit and you get all of the above...

Almost not worth owning a bike like a Hayabusa...a 1/4 turn of the throttle and you easily break the above limits...

Well, there (are)

Pretty much the same applies in the US. Some states like VA the legal consequences will be stricter than NZ.

Our highways and Interstates are just a bit longer than yours.

I agree that was pretty irresponsible, but I guess you have the same amendments as we do. We allow 200hp motorcycles on the street and attempting to use even a tiny fraction of that power disregards the law in a few seconds.

"Our highways and Interstates are just a bit longer than yours." . . . . . .

we don't have interstates coz we only have one state... . . . . and as far as the length of the roads .. . . . just a little , just a teeny weeney bit longer than ours lmao.

. . . . yup, and ya need to learn self control AND . . THROTTLE CONTROL, when riding a Busa or any powerful beast.

I love the Busa speedo! By the time you can even see the needle you are already illegal. We don't have hills or the awesome twisties that come with that but we do have the Great dismal Swamp. That means a couple of deserted, long straight roads that nobody watches or patrols. It's like our own private Mexico. I have never even seen a cop on them in 30 years.

Very responsible attitude you have there.
I used to be a hooligan on the streets, very Adrenalin pumping and a lot of fun and exciting racing my mates and doing high speed passes on car drivers laughing inside my helmet the whole time, a lot like 650ib.
I got busted a few times, book thrown at me, told to grow up etc etc so I got the Busas speed restrictions put back on and pulled 2 coil leads off to “tone it down a little” as the last cop I encountered suggested to me lol.
Seriously though. .... you are right, when it all goes wrong . . and it will someday, there will be many many regrets, so the public roads are NOT the place to race.
Try and tell our friends in the States that....
don't get me wrong if i want to do three figures speeds just do it on the back roads with little traffic , just not in the city limits and busy highways

roads like these are ok for 150+ on an early Sunday morning
