It just doesn't stop

I get it that you don't care but somebody should. My heart goes out to your wife's family and everyone else deserving. Some people don't have 12 years. Everyone's situation is different. Your painting of undcumented people is distorted. The great majority are good people trying to live their lives just like people lucky enough to have been born here. That's my point. Generalizing people under dire circumstances is not right. Period. There are immoral people in all walks of life. Categorzing them by their personal situations is wrong.
Hi. So you do not like using the way the Democrats think on gun control for the
Where did I paint anyone? I didn’t, nowhere. I used 1 out of 100 as a simple example. If it’s not that what number are you comfortable in saying is? Now figure that into the millions who have come. Sure everyone wants to live happy. Unfortunately the world is a cruel place. We can’t take everyone in from everywhere. I just don’t agree with letting everyone in basically unchecked with a promise to report to a hearing weeks or months down the road.

How on God’s green earth are women and children ‘walking two months thru jungles’ and showing up in fresh clothes and shoes at our border without serious coordinated assistance?

It's too late to disarm anyone.
Hi. It is not to late they can do it if they want.

Michael I have no idea why that is your response to my post. What do my words there have to do with gun control? I'm addressing the implication that violent crimes are more common among undocumented immigrants than US citizens. More people make for more crime? Yes, makes sense. Maybe we should slow down having babies as well. Blaming innocent immigrants trying to formulate their best lives is not what the original immigrants of this country had in mind.

We ARE responsible. We're responsible because we have allowed the country to be flooded with guns.
Again quoting your words. Had nothing to do with open borders. It was shifting responsibility to someone besides the murderer that got here because of open borders.

Newsflash. So you are opposed to open borders? Of the two parties you can vote for, which one has taken steps to control access into our country?

Hint. It dropped to a low during an administration prior to this one. And was a part of why he got elected.

And is at an all time high now.

The southern border has been an issue for centuries...

In the past, American outlaw border runners, Mexican banditos and Native American raiders would flow back and forth unchallenged.

A strong border is needed now more than ever due to the steady influx of illegal people who flow into the US and although most are not criminals, the Mexican cartels have control of their families in Mexico and using this leverage can direct the activities of otherwise law abiding people who are within the US legally or otherwise.

I just read where the current administration is calling on 1500 troops to man the border due to the South American migrant flow which is on it's way north.

I laughed when a comedian said "by the time a border wall was built between the US and Mexico, we (Americans) will be wanting to jump over it ourselves..."

If it's someone other than Trump I just may. If it's him the border security isn't worth it.

You pointed out first and foremost that Oropesa is undocumented, as if that explains why he went on a murderous rage.

Zero murders by ANYONE is the only ok number. The system is broken, but it’s not the immigrant’s fault.
Deported four times and from a country that sees cartel violence decapitate people and hang bodies from bridges. He shot everyone in the head near execution style. It is clear he has no problem with extreme violence. This wasn’t a person who simply flipped and shot people. He executed them ruthlessly. So yeah I think he’s a cold blooded illegal immigrant thug who should have never been here. Stricter immigration policies not gun laws could have kept him out and prevented this.

Yes but in the old days if we caught them breaking the law they wouldn't even see a trial before they got executed.

And I remember when Trump did the same. And the firestorm that ensued. He was a Racist. A Bigot. A white Supremacists.

Step up liberals. Call Brandon out here!

I agree totally on Oropeza; who wouldn’t. To stiffen immigration laws because of him is akin to blaming the gun in a mass shooting. Immigration law is fine, it’s the lack of enforcement. Sounds familiar? Much like gun control laws. They’re there but not enforced properly.

Sure I agree. Both need to be enforced more vigorously. What side has continuously supported being lax on violent criminals and the border? What side is it that came up with ‘sanctuary cities’ that in no uncertain terms flout federal laws and refuse to help enforce them? What side is it that regularly rotates criminals right back out sometimes without even any bail?
Democrats.

Lol. And when Biden does it. He isn't?

And you can't figure out why the left is so hated.
The left is hated? That's why Biden won the election? Let me guess, he didn't? I bet you were a reasonable guy before that idiot got inside your head.

Little wonder there is so much division in the US with a statement of people hating the left...this could equate to people also hating the right....

Hate is never a good thing and leads to other actions less favorable to democracy....

It's fortunate the bulk of citizens hang around in the middle or the US would already be delved into a civil war and subsequent failed state nation.

I know that "FACTS" are not a very popular thing around here, just ask @TallTom about the senate.gov voting records I posted. Haven't heard a peep from him on that thread since.

I think if our conversations were more based on fact and statistics versus just national news talking points from the right or left we might get more done or at least understand each other more and that is a start. For example, I like the fact that Trump instituted, the "Migrant Protection Protocols" that required asylum seekers and migrants to remain in Mexico while their paperwork was being processed. At least on the surface it makes sense to me.

I also like that the Biden administration proposed a bill to address central American countries in need of aid. I don't know that just throwing money at corrupt governments is a good idea but at least it should start a debate to try and treat the problem. In the United States we tend to treat symptom's not the actual problem. Gun violence and borders are a great example of this. Build a wall, that will fix everything. Having lived a 20 minute drive (less the way the crow flies) from the border for 8 years I can tell you firsthand a wall isn't going to do anything.
