He shot everyone in the head. He’s used to violence. Probably been deported more then once already and has cartel ties.

When Donald Trump sends troops the border he is called all those things. When Biden does it, he is not doing anything different. Suddenly it's not about be racist. Now it's about protecting our borders.

I know that "FACTS" are not a very popular thing around here, just ask @TallTom about the senate.gov voting records I posted. Haven't heard a peep from him on that thread since.

I think if our conversations were more based on fact and statistics versus just national news talking points from the right or left we might get more done or at least understand each other more and that is a start. For example, I like the fact that Trump instituted, the "Migrant Protection Protocols" that required asylum seekers and migrants to remain in Mexico while their paperwork was being processed. At least on the surface it makes sense to me.

I also like that the Biden administration proposed a bill to address central American countries in need of aid. I don't know that just throwing money at corrupt governments is a good idea but at least it should start a debate to try and treat the problem. In the United States we tend to treat symptom's not the actual problem. Gun violence and borders are a great example of this. Build a wall, that will fix everything. Having lived a 20 minute drive (less the way the crow flies) from the border for 8 years I can tell you firsthand a wall isn't going to do anything.

Oh. You wanted me respond? If I remember we were discussing why Clinton didn't VETO a bill if it was a bad idea. What facts are in dispute? Isn't that fact? You went off on why he couldn't VETO because it would have been overridden. I think we discussed that a presidential VRTO has been overridden once in history.

Hate is never a good thing and leads to other actions less favorable to democracy....

But the memory span is rarely longer than a week for most of them. Whatever the news feeds them this week is the attention span. They forget all the chyt slung at Trump when he got the level of immigrants flooding over the borders to a low. They forget all about how they pushed back hard on those policies. Yeah. That was 2 years ago. Ancient history now.

My point was it was republicans and dems together you said "Go ahead, find the republicans in this" I did, in the senate overwhelming support from Republicans. And at least in the Senate they had well over 2/3 support so a VETO wouldn't have worked.

My point exactly...the word hate is involved....when citizens place their political alignment above the good of the country, there's where the problem lies and this has been the downfall of many nations...

This sort of rhetoric is spreading globally, as your neighbor to the north, it is spreading quickly here as well especially since many Americans have moved here.
