What is this "fake news" and who decides what is real and what is fake?
And while I'm at that sort of rhetoric, how is it that Trump is deciding this?
He could be....much like the US, our political parties can't seem to come up with a decent leader and people stay with what they know rather than take a chance....
I think the next Canadian election might see him get ousted as many people are tired of his shenanigan's and crazy money spending on questionable things.

Trump didn't decide it. He just learned how to start making it a topic to rally the people around. We all knew how the media conducted themselves. It stopped being about news, years ago.
He had his faults for sure. But he was better at dominating the media than everyone else.
Like today. We see Trump being covered more than Biden. Or any other candidate.
Biden has a very low approval rating. And 70% of the people polled don't think he should run again. They have to find a way to make Trump look worse than that.
It won't be the first time the left tried to get illegal immigrants the right to vote.
They need those 100s of thousands to get on our soil.

The MSM still cover basic news but have been politized over the years much like everything else..
Trump made them an enemy and they reciprocated.....and they will continue to do so...the media isn't a good enemy to have, a lot of his coverage isn't favorable for him either.
Trump's personality makes him dangerous...he is so egotistic that he dismisses his experts and has said he can do a better job then they can. We've heard and saw this sort of ideology in history already and it has never been good.
Sadly the republicans have set their caps for him and that will cost them the election.

While I agree with all but the last part. The choice of Biden is a hard media problem to solve for the left. Even an idiot like Trump is more popular.
Hard to say...I really think the bulk of voters won't bring Trump back...he burned too many bridges...
Although Biden is a doddering old man, people will choose him over Trump.

Nope. Biden, or whoever, will beat Trump. Perhaps we'll even, at some point, get a super majority and get rid of the electoral college. Then we'll never see another republican president.

Well if 70% believe he shouldn't run again, and it seems noone will oppose him on the Dem side. Then nath would suggest many will abstain from voting at all. Or they will swing Republican. As to whether Trump can win. I hope not. There are already better candidates opposing.
He unfortunately is still a front runner.
And he terrifies the Dems.

I said that if was someone other than Trump I would listen to what they have to say and consider it.
The problem is that his influence is so deeply imbedded in the party that I don't see anyone other than him or one of his sycophants being nominated for at least 2 cycles so I think options should be considered. It's almost impossible to ammend the constitution so I wouldn't worry about it.

Only way to make every vote count is to get rid of the electoral college. Not so sure about the end effect, though. Hard line Dems and and Repubs will vote the same, but the swing voters will do just that. Swing.
I don't think there's many swing voters left at the presidential level. The big cities would elect the president and they're overwhelmingly dem, in pretty much every state.
So you would do away with the electoral college which would wind up giving us a liberal potus from Cali or NY forever? Totally leave out the people in the heartland of this country?
The electoral college works perfectly as it was intended.

Why shouldn’t each individual person have an equal amount of say with their vote?
