Hi. You may have seen things that no one should see. As I have seen and done things that no should. To this day they are still in my mind and can come back to me at anytime. I suffer from PTSD as I was in Nam for almost 2 1/2 years. There are things that I just can not say here. You do what you have to do to keep yourself and others alive.. They were correct whe they said wär is hell. I was stabed in my hand in hand to hand combat on my 1st mission. On my last mission I was hit by sharpnel from a Chinies 51 cal machine gun as it hit skid on my bird I was a door gunner in the 1st cav. The 2 pieces are still next to my spine. I came home and spent almost the next 2 yrs in a wheelchair. Things like this can build hate between people. In a fight what would you to stay alive and keep you friends and love ones alive? I would say anything that you can. You see I have been there and had to do it to stay alive.I was 12. Hi. OH I was awarded 66 metals for all the terrible things that I had to do. Like 2 Purple Harts a Bronze Star with a V. The V is for Valɔr as I stated behind and faces over 50 VC alone with my M 60 but that is a hole nother story that is when zi got staded in my hand in hand to hand.
It probably didn't help much that you weren't welcomed home by your citizens and then the US had to flee Vietnam in a hasty retreat.
