Or maybe another lesson is don't give away chyt you need to keep your own life going.
I would think that a good portion of the alloted Ukraine funds are going into research and development here at home to help keep the U.S. vialble militarily.
There is an entire branch involved in development of arms and equipment for the US military...that branch doesn't mess around either much like most similar branches in any military....our development branch are a pretty serious bunch.
The arms designers and producers are eating this all up, they are making money hand over fist
I just read that cluster munitions are in Ukraine and they are getting prepared for use...
We'll see if they are the game changer but I highly doubt they will be...fighting in OBUA or FIBUA is much different than in the open areas...civilians are always on the short end of the stick in these situations and non-precision munitions will get them killed.

Human attrition is a pretty powerful component to a military outcome.
Well history shows us the Russians threw millions away defending places like Stalingrad.
Their mindset seems to be no different today. Putin doesn’t seem to care if he drains his country of every male capable.
Stalin thought nothing of killing his own people-he had those death squads which killed any Russian soldier retreating....
These days Russia is suffering from what all countries are suffering from-the youth who know everything and do what they want. If a global war did break out, western countries would have to create conscription and I'd wager many would rather go to jail than go to war unlike wars in the past.
Putin is doing the same thing with ‘barrier troops’.

Currently our Navy is accepting ASVAB scores of 10. That's like I can spell my name and cross a street unaccompanied level.
You can draft better scores than that. By miles.

Then it seems to me we should most definitely want to tip the scales with cluster bombs. Sooner or later Putin won't be able to draft what isn't available. Has Russia sealed it's borders from males leaving the country yet? I think if so, we'd know. This isn't N Korea here
Cluster bombs are only effective in open country, they are useless in FIBUA or OBUA....
They won't tip the scales.
The best way to end the war is a change of Russian government to a leader that opposes the war....
It's too late for any sort of peace talks.
When war first broke out MANY people mostly able aged males tried to leave. The Georgian border is where many were caught, scooped up and sent off to ukraine. They are also simply driving around the streets of Russia scooping people up and sending them off. This is not to mention all the convicts offered free get out of jail cards to also go fight.

i heard tonight in a monologue about cluster bombs , that every 8 minutes in the 1960s a B52 Carpet bombed Vietnam every day for years.

Well we have already broadcast to the world we don't have anything else to send for munitions. So it's these or Ooopppss Ukraine gets their butts kicked. And now everyone knows we don't have ammo.
