Russia and Ukraine

Shutting down the Keystone pipeline didn't help matters any either....it killed off our oil industry here...

Our glorious leader (Turdeau) is anti-oil as well...which doesn't help...

These people need to see how nasty Li and precious metal mining is.....
Nope. Biden and Trudeau should get married. They belong together.

You guys have enough oil on the Permian Basin to solve all your economic troubles. Twice over.

We can't let that happen.

And yeah they talk about how hard oil is on the environment. Yet build more EVs. A Li mine yields far less energy than oil field of the same size does. And we still need fossil fuels to recharge the EVs.

I think Hydrogen is a better future for vehicles. And nuclear is a better future for electricity.

I know, I know burning oil is causing our temps to rise. I get it.

Just follow housing prices and interest rates to see the carnage that is poised to appear soon. Also watch how the interest rate impacts the national debt for starters. The tipping point for us exceeding our ability to repay the debt is on the horizon. If we default on our debt the places that hold our debt will dump a lot of it and that will mean more inflation. We already took a credit rating hit under Obama and it showed the world something that should never been allowed to happen.

The country had to rebound a bit after the scam demic was declared officially over. To bad so many people lost their motivation to work as the free money was doled out. Too bad so many small businesses were destroyed by the lock downs. Add to that the work force that started working from home and won't be going back to the 9 to 5 grind in major cities like they once did. To bad so many people lost jobs that are not coming back. What a good part of that destruction to the work place will translate into is empty office in commercial real estate in numbers never seen before. What does that mean? It means bankruptcies on a large scale. Better start converting those empty offices to homeless shelters for the millions of illegals that are being imported by the White House and the compromised leader that is taking orders from Obama.

Forget the 2 party political system... it is a Den of corrupt misfits pretending to care about the America we had at one time. Yes, we still have a few good men left... the rest of them are so easy to blackmail and compromise that nothing can stop it until the American people stand up and say no. In the same way parents complain loudly at school board meetings we need to stop feeding the deceivers of our youth. I guess you haven't noticed what gender re assignment surgery is doing to children. Or, how the whole gender dysphoria / pronoun BS is doing to both genders. Check the miscarriage rate spike since the experimental vaccines were injected into millions of American women. As long as we have left and right, conservative and liberal the game of divide and conquer will continue. What kind of American History classes are being taught these days in our public schools?

Right now we need a president and a team that can negotiate and navigate us back to normalcy. What we mostly have now is a period of craziness and hubris for about 6 years in Washington DC. If you don't think hubris in a president is dangerous to our national security then you must not have paid much attention to the tyrants of the past and where they ended up.
I agree with some of what you are saying, I just don't agree with who, if anyone, is at fault.

Who do you suggest could do a better job?

Here's a little tip. If you drive up the cost of petroleum use, everything else goes up. You can drive it up in lots of ways. Cutting production being one. Making the cost to build new refineries cost prohibitive would be another.

If I'm a say Exxon and the sitting president makes a statement that he wants to stop the use of oil and gas in America, what would you do if you were Exxon?

If I'm a trucker and it cost me $5000 in fuel to get your product to you, do you expect that trucker is going to suck that up? If I'm a trucker. Working on thin margins already and can't afford to float those fuel prices waiting to get paid, am I going to stay in trucking?

If I am the Fed and I raise the cost to borrow capital, is that going to make the price of doing business go up or down?

If I am a business and I am being told to pay more taxes, is that going to raise my prices to the consumer?

If I tell the CEOs that have taken all the risk to build a company and secure jobs and pay taxes and produce competitive products, that they are going to pay more personal taxes because of it. Does that improve that companies chances to keep that leadership?

What president has accomplished all of the above? In less than 2 years?
I like it when you ask all the important and pointed questions because they all make the point that needs to be made.

Just one comment about corporate taxes... what is the point of it? It is simply added on to the retail cost because at the end when the consumer has obtained the product or service they also paid the bill on the corporate tax rate whatever it happens to be. The business isn't going to absorb the cost of taxes separate from the cost of doing business. Its is simply a hidden tax passed on to the end user. I say kill it. Let the employees, management and stock holders pay for a particular company through the personal tax they pay just like the rest of us do and stop the backlog at the IRS that further drives up the tax rate for all the employees and buildings the IRS has or uses.

Its really just another federal government money laundering business with a gun pointed at the tax paying businesses. Remember when the IRS bought 1.6 billion rounds of ammo? I don't hear about any ammo being sold out of the IRS... do you?

Good question... it has to be somebody missing a whole bunch of baggage. A new promising candidate will face the inevitable if not chosen by the Swamp and the Press Cabal of smear technicians will answer the call with lies intended to make that person irrelevant whomever it might be.

A guy like Ross Perot ( former CEO of EDS ) was making progress with dethroning Clinton and Bush Sr back in the early 90s. Mr Perot's delivery on a verbal level made people think he wasn't as smart as others and came off like a bit of a Redneck to some people.

Perot was gaining and polling around 20% when the phone call came in... drop out of the race or we kill your daughter. Perot paused briefly and then pursued the presidency but the loss of momentum in the polls killed his chances of making it to the White House.

So, who would I pick? Somebody like Elon maybe... somebody that doesn't need to make deals to make money for personal benefit. ( I know, Elon has made plenty of deals that tapped the US Treasury but I digress ) As far as politicians go John Radcliffe, Director of national Intelligence seems like a pretty straight shooter on matters that matter. He doesn't come off as a member of the Swamp though. Who knows where his allegiance lies? Would other leaders respect him? I think so because he has access to a lot of intel and knows what games are being played.

In the end game we are in I believe the dice have already been cast and that is why countries are building alliances with each other to reverse the use of the Petro Dollar and form a new financial system. Money is the lubricant that moves businesses and countries. If our dollar loses to a different currency life will become much different than it is now.

Interesting ideas. Electing a non-politician has gone well in one case, Ronald Reagan and badly in another case, Trump.

A few months ago I would have agreed on Elon but he's been squirrelly lately.

I like Mitch Landrieu but he shows no interest.

More like 200 years. And that doesn't include the vast fields in Canada that are largely untapped. So l AB’s!/add another 200 years.
Definitely arguable. Depends on what one reads and more importantly ascribes to. Regardless, it’s eventual and my ears are open to the conversation about converting. It’s not about us, it’s about generations down the line.

It won't matter much if we clean up our act and the rest of the world gets to pollute. And while polluting, steam rolls us economically. Your future generations are already burdened with our debt. Meanwhile the oil producers have no debt.

Make EVs cheaper than ICE and you have a start. Encourage investment in hydrogen fuel development.

Any climate deals we sign should make us economically disadvantaged.

Should NOT make us ^above^

How did it go badly with Trump other than the constant badge of stupid smear tactics from the leftist and the press? Our taxes were cut, right? Is that a bad thing? NATO countries that were letting us carry more of the load relative to the cost and started to pay up. Rocketman stopped lighting off rockets. Didn't China got the tariff treatment? Trump supported the police, yes, no? Lowest unemployment in history for minorities. Did any wars break out under Trump? Or did the bad actors take notice and start acting up again under Biden?

Who most likely colluded with Russia... Hillary or Trump? Uranium deal?
Don't even compare Biden to Trump in terms of how the economy was doing pre covid. Covid is over now OVER under Biden ( he said so ) so... where are we as country now? Look at how all the free money decentivised the middle class workers as just one example of failed policy under Biden tax and spend plan... he still wants 87,000 new IRS agents to look into transactions over $600... total clown show of an idiot that forgot when taxes are cut the economy starts moving in a more productive manner.

No president is perfect... even Reagan and the first budget / debt problems showed us that the Congress is not the experts on fiscal policy.
A new record level of debt was set under Reagan which is pale in comparison to what we have now.

Who would make a good president? Desantis... will he win if he runs? Maybe... I listened last night on Levin to his way of getting things done. He looks like an expert to me on how to get ahead and stay ahead of the media smear tactics and other liars in office that want more power. By simply putting the media in second place on the cutting edge of managing a state he has been able to get more done for the people of Florida.

I'm not going to get into why Trump was bad. I don't have time and we aren't going to change each other's minds so it's pointless to argue.

DeSantis, meh. Just another culture warrior. He started off good as governor but now it's all about making himself look more conservative.

I've been down this road with people on this site, particularly within these threads...

They have their mind set and there's no discussion-you could have the best argument in defense of your position and it just doesn't phase them at all...

It's a deep rabbit hole to fall into....

I believe in the rights of others to have an opinion though and fought for that right.

Exactly.

The hard part in these are that people often forget the accomplishments that even bad presidents have accomplished.

Nixon.
Got us out of the Vietnam War.

Bolstered minority opportunities through the endowment of black colleges with federal funds.

Promotion of black entrepreneurship — with the “Black Capitalism" initiative.

Provided the largest government backed contribution to black owned businesses getting government contracts. More than any administration prior or since.

Creation of the EPA.

To name a few.

We all know what he is remembered for.

....and this is typical of anyone......all it takes is one bad thing to happen and that sets the precedence of one's entire existence...

I'm reminded of Bill Cosby. Horrible what he did to women. Assuming they are true, there is absolutely no excuses.

But he probably single handedly did more to inspire and help the black community than anyone else in America. He was America's Dad. One of my favorite shows that taught fantastic values to anyone that watched it.

Vaporized.

I think he is a poor example due to the charges against him....

There are thousands of other examples who's statues are being toppled and names are taken off streets, buildings and communities in both our countries..

Here cancel culture has gripped us and our founding fathers are being eradicated one by one....their actions are being constantly compared to today's standards which is wrong....life was different in those days good or bad...

You're not wrong. Sometimes though, the bad outweighs the good. Jan 6 for example. Nothing short of treason.

Haha. Now you're an expert on who inspires the black community.
