Brother and I survived three years of civil war growing up.
Ate mostly oranges, pita bread and Cheerios.

I've never watched that movie as I was never a fan of Seagull....Recently declassified video. Bee is just a cook….
Often times the plight of the citizens is overlooked.....it was hard to do what we did and have to see the humanity involved.....if we did, we'd cry ourselves to sleep every night...Brother and I survived three years of civil war growing up.

Of course. It's totally a proxy war.All the strategy and tactics Ukraine is using is from western advisors. All the advanced western arms are being monitored by western advisors as well...
The west has been training Ukrainian forces for many years now....my guys said they were mostly incompetent (especially the officers) and it took a lot of time and training to get them to a capable level....There are western advisors and troops embedded into Ukrainian units directing them.
Basically the west is fighting a proxy war using Ukrainian troops.
They train us to compartmentalize. And they took us to view corpses so you get used to it. We even had to take training courses unrelated to corpses, while sitting amongst corpses.Often times the plight of the citizens is overlooked.....it was hard to do what we did and have to see the humanity involved.....if we did, we'd cry ourselves to sleep every night...
Very few units (if any) these days do any sort of training such as that....They train us to compartmentalize. And they took us to view corpses so you get used to it. We even had to take training courses unrelated to corpses, while sitting amongst corpses.
The good old days. They'd probably be facing charges now if they did it.Very few units (if any) these days do any sort of training such as that....
I never had any corpse" training.
Most definitely...The good old days. They'd probably be facing charges now if they did it.
Yep. People even to this day have some spiritual and cultural aspects they can't get over. We transport deceased to various destinations. Some drivers refuse to do it. Some passengers refuse to ride in a vehicle that has had a dead person in it.Most definitely...
We trained with other things which replicated human corpses but never an actual human corpse...
As a kid it sucked because well we were just that kids in the middle of an armed conflict between two sides. Grown men could at least fight back.Often times the plight of the citizens is overlooked.....it was hard to do what we did and have to see the humanity involved.....if we did, we'd cry ourselves to sleep every night...
You are fortunate to have escaped that life...As a kid it sucked because well we were just that kids in the middle of an armed conflict between two sides. Grown men could at least fight back.
Deep down it’s probably why I’m so history oriented and unrelenting toward the constitution and bill of rights. I’ve seen a well functioning society collapse almost overnight and what happens all around. Also why I’m into guns and self preservation. You are fortunate to have escaped that life...
I've run into many child soldiers who haven't and I'd imagine now they are grown and indoctrinating their kids into the same sort of lifestyle as it seems to be a generational thing.
The even sadder thing is it is happening right here in both our countries...hate mongering seems to be generational as well..
If the passengers on commercial flights knew how often there's a body in the cargo hold... They only announce it if it's an escorted military body (I did escort duty once).Yep. Nobody is born hating someone or an ideology. It's taught. Usually starts at home. I grew up in a racial south. By parents who were not at all. Dad got moved there for work. We built or bought the only house in the start of a new housing sub division. My closest and only friends as a kid were the poorest, most destitute black kids. You are fortunate to have escaped that life...

Yep. We transport to airports. It's all done without the passenger knowing if possible. If the passengers on commercial flights knew how often there's a body in the cargo hold... They only announce it if it's an escorted military body (I did escort duty once).
That's what I meant by generational....it's taught from generation to generation....some times the next generation goes against the grain and stops the hate....Nobody is born hating someone or an ideology. It's taught. Usually starts at home. I grew up in a racial south. By parents who were not at all. Dad got moved there for work. My dad put up a basketball net. We daily played Harlem Globetrotters from sun up to sun down. They were my best buddies. I was the out of place white kid with the honkey name. Nobody cared. We laughed about it. My mom made meals for everyone of us at lunchtimes. Everyday.
We used to play losing team had to take the first drink out of the garden hose. For those of you that don't know. An exposed garden hose in the south heated up the water to about 200 degrees (a joke but it was scalding). And it took a few seconds to make it out to the end. So the whole losing team had to decide how thirsty they were. Because someone is gonna have to drink that hot lava when it made its way out. The winning team got to laugh our butts off watching those antics knowing we'd get the cold water. I'm sure by now this would be considered child abuse.
Then I started school and learned that some people just hated someone because of a skin color. They had no actual experience of exposure, they just grew up in a house that said hate them because of it.
It goes for both sides. Blacks hated whites for no particular reason other than they were raised to.
I can see that, once you've seen the other side of the fence, it's hard to unsee....Deep down it’s probably why I’m so history oriented and unrelenting toward the constitution and bill of rights. I’ve seen a well functioning society collapse almost overnight and what happens all around. Also why I’m into guns and self preservation.
Central America somewhere? As a kid it sucked because well we were just that kids in the middle of an armed conflict between two sides. Grown men could at least fight back.
BeirutCentral America somewhere?
Yea, that was a rough time I'm sure.Beirut
I should probably take back the ‘two sides’ comment as there were probably more like twenty.
