Russia and Ukraine

it worked since 1945, if you nuke me then i will nuke you

Mutual assured destruction - European Union undermining that

who cut the Nordstream pipeline - IMHO it was not the Russians then who ??? - not sure POTUS knows the time of day
What about the countries without nukes? Do we just let them fall one by one? About the time we announce that policy every country in the world will be scrambling to get them just to save themselves. We already have 3 who have nukes and shouldn't.

I read that Russia is sending in blind missile attacks and that many of them are being intercepted and shot down...

I would expect such a missile attack from a third world country but from a supposedly established and powerful nation as Russia?

I am seeing a level of desperation and ineptitude from Russia as I never thought I'd see....

I also realize how much influence and support the west has provided to Ukraine in order for them to be so successful. By now Russia must realize it wouldn't stand a chance against NATO in a conventional war.

Paper tiger, nothing more. Slava Ukraini!

I have noted Ukraine is acting like someone with a rented car when it comes to weapon and ammo conservation, use it hard with reckless abandon...why should they worry as long as the west keeps on supplying them?

I read that they were using very expensive GPS guided 155mm Excalibur rounds as conventional rounds.

I hope they are successful in repelling the Russians and I also hope some sort of peace accord is soon drafted before the rest of the world is either drawn into the conflict or go bankrupt supporting it.

I've found that if you dig deep the western propaganda is strong... Russia is doing better than the west will let on. But with guerrilla warfare any small force can cause havoc on a larger force within their own country.

But at the end of the day Russias war machine is much larger abd stronger and they can and will win unless nato steps in which I doubt will ever happen.

There is a lot of western propaganda and there has to be in order to open the pocketbooks....

Russia will never win in Ukraine for several reasons one of which you pointed out-insurgent warfare....if Russia manages to collapse the Ukrainian military (which I highly doubt) that same military would break down into insurgent groups which would cause huge amounts of grief for any Russian occupation force...that same force would face the lack of acceptance from Ukrainian citizens....if you don't win over the populace, good luck in occupying a region.

If we look at what Russia is doing to equip and man their invasion force, we see a military in great trouble...and on the verge of not being effective.

We shall see.

I've seen hundreds of videos of russian drones destroying expensive NATO equiment and those russian snipers are crazy good, I couldn't imagine going to war in this day and age with thermal imaging and some guy picking off 10-20 people on their own. I hope you are right though and Russia loses.

I don't know what the future holds but hopefully there is some sort of peace brokering before Russia gets desperate and resorts to some sort of biological/chemical/nuclear option.

Russian drones, night optics and tech is well behind what the Ukraine has via NATO...western drones use Lidar and can spot troops in underground bunkers, this info is relayed back to HQs and can be displayed in a 3D option....there's no place to hide in a modern battlefield. These drones can be used in conjunction to air and ground assets in real time.....

At this point, something more has to have been going on since before this all started, as at this point, it's been looking like it's just a lame distraction.
Does it not seem like Russia should have taken over Ukrain long before any foreign aid ever reached them?
Are we to belive that World Super Power Russia is so incompetant that they cannot defeat Ukrain's small military, and small physical size, and after this much time?
I know things are easily manipulated by the media, but come on...the whole thing is like watching pro wrestling...

You'd be surprised how many assets and personnel an invasion requires, especially the invasion of a country with a standing military...Ukraine had a decent military that was being trained by the west long before the Russian invasion....remember Russia never gained air superiority nor did they shut down the "eyes and ears" of Ukraine by destroying all cell and communication towers...and they never held the airports or bridges....

Taking a large city is a daunting task, holding one is almost impossible unless you are seen as a liberator and Russia is not viewed as one contrary to what they were led to believe prior to the invasion....I think Putin believed the Ukraine people and military would lay down arms and greet them as liberators....and when they didn't, he didn't have a back up plan to execute.
