In the news this morning the chief of Wagner says he's going to pull his boys out of Bakmut if they don't get more ammo.

Maybe he'll flip and fight for Ukraine.....I've seen weirder things happen....Yeah he ain’t happy
Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin labels Russian defence minister 'scum'
Senior Ukrainian officials have cast doubt over Yevgeny Prigozhin's shocking announcement earlier today, alleging the retreat is likely a ploy designed to distract Ukraine's armed forceswww.dailymail.co.uk
Some say it’s just a ruse to make ukraine think they are in bad shape.Maybe he'll flip and fight for Ukraine.....I've seen weirder things happen....
Maybe, anything's possible with that bunch....Some say it’s just a ruse to make ukraine think they are in bad shape.
This is my concern. Some say it’s just a ruse to make ukraine think they are in bad shape.
Still makes one wonder......It's called building morale. This is a great way to keep the country together. The end of the war has nothing to do with the battlefield. Putin is hoping Biden will lose and Trump will abandon Ukraine and NATO, allowing Putin to finish his original goal. Ukraine is hoping Putin falls.
The whole country isn't the front lines.Still makes one wonder......
I've been in many war zones and none of them played soccer as they were too busy trying to stay alive...
Battlefield wins and recapturing ground builds morale too...
Exactly right. If trump or DeSantis wins Ukraine will be handed over to Russia. We'll be lucky if we aren't pulled out of nato completelyIt's called building morale. The whole country should be involved in the conflict, not just the people at the frontThe whole country isn't the front lines.
How long were the Soviets in Afghanistan? What made them eventually give up? Ukraine is Afg repeating itself. We helped the Afghans with materiel which helped them defeat the Soviets. Now we are helping the Ukrainians to defeat the same people. I think we will be in it till Russia either taps out or destroys the world. This has turned into a pure ego contest. Some of the amounts of destruction seen on whole cities I think will take decades if ever to rebuild. It’s a shame because it was a beautiful country. This is the reality.....the invasion of Ukraine will be a monetary drain on NATO countries for years to come...Russia isn't backing down or withdrawing and Ukraine can't afford to not counterattack....
I wonder just how far will NATO stick their nose into this conflict more than they already have....??
NATO is funding the Ukrainians 100% with money, weapons, training and advisors...the only part of the puzzle they haven't given is actual NATO troops in combat formations...I'll guarantee there are NATO troops in each Ukrainian unit doing command and control functions.

I don't think that them having a soccer team means that they're not all in on the war.The whole country should be involved in the conflict, not just the people at the front
Completely agree that we need to continue support for as long as it takes. Point is that certain presidential candidates have indicated that this might not happen if they're elected. How long were the Soviets in Afghanistan? What made them eventually give up? It means they are not focused on the task at hand....what does it say when NATO countries have advisors and are spending billions upon billions on their country's defense not to mention the countless training hours spent in neighboring countries...I don't think that them having a soccer team means that they're not all in on the war.
There will have to be a time when this isn't sustainable......but will be everlasting until Putin is either disposed or wiped out as he will not back down even when faced with the overwhelming lack of support for his actions.Completely agree that we need to continue support for as long as it takes. Perhaps you're right but I think they're just trying to raise morale and give civilians some sort of sense of normalcy. It means they are not focused on the task at hand....what does it say when NATO countries have advisors and are spending billions upon billions on their country's defense not to mention the countless training hours spent in neighboring countries...
Having a soccer tournament in the face of all this is in poor taste in my opinion...
I can't argue with any of this. I spent my military time during the cold war. Every bit of our training was geared towards fighting Russia. They are, at least in my mind, the eternal enemy. I have a deep hatred for them. Not individual Russians but the country in general. There will have to be a time when this isn't sustainable......but will be everlasting until Putin is either disposed or wiped out as he will not back down even when faced with the overwhelming lack of support for his actions.
I can see NATO being eventually directly sucked into this and we all know what that will lead to....
China is licking their chops awaiting the chance to invade Taiwan and are doing lots of sabre rattling against the US.
North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Iran are thumbing their noses at primarily the US.....I can see an alignment being formed with these bad actor countries which would form a formidable foe...especially if it is formed with Russia and China at the helm...
