Should I buy a Gen III

If you're tall and want to adjust the shifting lever down after lowering the footpegs, you're going to run into clearance issues with your kickstand.
Also watch out for the kickstand: parking even slightly downhill without being in gear could dump your bike.
Insurance may be available to you based on mileage. Specifically tailored to low mile riders / those with multiple bikes. It goes state to state, not available in CA but hopefully in near future. I'd research that right away...

Good info thanks. I'm 5'11" and would probably like to lower the pegs by about an inch but I'd have to get a couple thousand miles of saddle time before deciding to lower the pegs. I never park my bike without leaving it in 1st gear but a good tip on the bike rolling forward off the kick stand. Insurance might be a show stopper if I can't find a affordable rate :-(

Normally I’d be all for recommending a Gen 3 but I’d seriously consider a bulletproof Gen 2 over the problem plagued Gen 3 which Suzuki won’t address the issues. I personally done just under 23,000kms on 9 months ownership but 6 warranty repairs kept it off the road for weeks on end.

At this stage, I’d avoid a 3 at all costs til Suzuki pull their finger out.

I went from a ZX14R to a Gen3 Busa, a 14R is faster, much stronger top end, real world the Busa is faster as it has more immediate low down power. The electronic suite is far superior to a 14R.
Economy wise im seeing 1mpg difference between the 14R and Busa, did a long run today(brass monkey weather) and was on track to get about 200 miles range from a full tank.
Actually tried a Ducati Streetfighter V4 and an XDiavel. That streetfighter is completely and utterly insane, if you can keep the front wheel down its easily one of the fastest production bikes on the planet (208hp and 392lbs). But back to the Busa.... the standard saddle i managed about 40 minutes before i was in pain, with the suzuki comfort one thats been extended to 60 minutes. There will be a 22 silver for sale soon near Philly as im 99% sure im trading it against the XDiavel.

Booo! Traitor. Get outta here. STONE HIM, GUYS! :p

I've never thought of buying a Busa because I was never thrilled with the looks but the Gen III has caught my attention and now I'm thinking of adding one to the stable. I owned a BMW K1300S, 2018 H2SXSE and ZX14R so I'm not new to fast bikes but this would be my first Suzuki so I have a few questions before I pull the trigger.

Are bar risers available or a handlebar kit to give me a more upright riding position?
Peg lowering kit to get a little more leg room?
Aftermarket soft or hard panniers? I do like have some storage capacity
Taller windscreen?
I know insurance rates vary from place to place but what are riders paying? I'm in the northeast just outside of Philadelphia, PA.
What do you like most about the Gen III and least
Any regrets
Any known issues to be aware of?
How many miles do you get per tank?
The bike will be fast enough for me from the factory so I don't have any interest in performance modifications.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all
What I like the most about the Gen 3, besides how good it looks and how commanding is its presence, is how complete it is as a package.

Wanna ride it like a scooter? It's still fun. Wanna ride it like an ICBM? Give it a wristful. Wanna ride for hours? It's comfortable, stable and smooth. Wanna lean it in the twisties? It'll lean more than most riders would dare to.

I watch bike videos weekly, and I'm itching hardcore for a 600, but I've yet to see a newer bike that I would sell my Gen 3 for, regardless of price. I would have to save the money to buy another bike, because I wouldn't want to part with my Gen 3.

As quirky as it is, especially mine that is definitely a Friday Hayabusa, I still love her and she has been 100% reliable, even with the faulty front brakes I've yet to take to the dealer to do the recall.

I have no regrets. Cannot think of a con besides weight at low speeds, but that's part of the design, so it doesn't count as one.

Fuel economy-wise, she sips gas as long as I stay out of WOT, which I find hard to do. I don't get 200 miles out of the tank. But, in traffic, I get 45-50 MPG and a full tank seems to last for a long time.

Your bike looks great and thanks for sharing your thoughts I also like the Ducati Diavel and Xdiavel but they're both a little out of my price range. Since you live near Philly Montgomeryville Cycle Center has a 2023 demo Diavel discounted by $2000 so maybe an option for you.
That's exactly where I bought my XDiavel from! So they now have a beautiful Gen 3 Busa for sale.

Let us know how that Duck works out for you....

I've only seen one in person at a dealership and it was a pretty serious looking beast.
I also tried a Streetfighter V4. I've been riding 36 years, had some of the fastest production bikes in the world (Blackbird, ZX12R, ZX14R, Busa) and I have no doubt that V4 is the fastest bike available if you can keep the front wheel down. With 208hp and 392lbs it's an utter weapon.
It's too much bike for the road, it doesn't like taking it easy, if you're in too high a gear it just shakes when asked to accelerate, if you're in the "right" gear it'll lift the front wheel at 1/2 throttle at 6,000 rpm and seeing the power doesn't really come on until 8k and it revs to 14k that's too excessive for every day.
The Xdiavel looks amazing, goes really well (with launch assist it'll do 0-60 in 2.5 secs) is next level comfort. I'll miss my Busa, wish I had the money for multiple 20k bikes at the same time!

A former colleague has a Panigale V4S and it has spent a lot of it's time at the dealer getting some sort of repair...he said that when it's working and on it's game, the bike is a real missile.....

It's a seriously beautiful bike though and the fit and finish is second to none..

I love the RSV4 and the Panigale V4 and V2 variants, but the horror stories I've read or heard from Aprilia and Ducati have purged from me any desire to own their bikes, as beautiful and desirable as I find them.

I mean, the most recent was 650ib's white 2023 RSV4 Factory that came with a leaky radiator cap. A MALFUNCTIONING RADIATOR CAP.

Imagine buying a brand new high-end Italian bike and having to remove the fairings after its first ride in order to troubleshoot why it smells like coolant. Dude...
