Should I buy a Gen III

What I love about the GEN3 is that it just looks big & heavy but once its moving, it feels nothing like it, you may even mistake it for a liter bike (I weigh 150lbs). Oh!! & of course all the new tech it comes with.

What I hate about the gen3 is the hot start issue. Nearly killed myself & totaled the bike because of it & the glitchy Quick shifter.
Wow do share!

Sometimes you have have to travel to get a good deal on a bike. The question on this one would be is it still under warranty? I would hope the dealership would do an inspection and provide the results. Perhaps it could you some negotiating room.
I really don't mind traveling for the right deal but unfortunately I'm not convinced this particular bike is the right deal. I assume the bike is still under warranty since its a demo and never titled but I could be wrong and would have to verify but if the clock has already started ticking on the warranty that would be a show stopper for me.

Agree. No warranty or less than the standard 12 months and walk away for sure. Are you looking for only brand new Gen 3s?

Yes I'm looking at buying new Gen III, the styling of the previous generation bikes never really appealed to me but I do like the Gen III and prefer to purchase a new bike.

Color matter? Have you considered having one shipped? I ask because I have seen some east coast bikes that are new for less than the ~$16k on the one you are looking at.

I'm open to just about any color except I don't like the matte silver or white but the black, charcoal and 25th anniversary orange looks great. I'm in Pennsylvania near Philly and I've been searching cycle trader. I'm open to have the bike shipped, I could make an adventure out of it and hook up my trailer to my truck, drive and pick the bike up myself or if the weather cooperated do a fly and ride.

The Bike in the first link is sold, the bike in the third link is the one I'm currently looking at that is a demo bike, I'll reach out and contact the dealership in the second link. That's a great price providing dealership fees aren't excessive. Thanks for sharing the links, appreciate it.

Guess it didn't last long. :D

Bought my first Gen2 from Rockingham, NC. https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2023-Suzuki-Hayabusa-5022942183

They were great to deal with.
I'll give them a call tomorrow, that bike definitely has potential if they don't have crazy dealership fees. I could drive down there in a day, do the deal and come home the next day. What I've discovered is some dealerships advertise low prices but have excessive dealership fees, $1500+, so you're not really getting that great of a deal.

I've never thought of buying a Busa because I was never thrilled with the looks but the Gen III has caught my attention and now I'm thinking of adding one to the stable. I owned a BMW K1300S, 2018 H2SXSE and ZX14R so I'm not new to fast bikes but this would be my first Suzuki so I have a few questions before I pull the trigger.

Are bar risers available or a handlebar kit to give me a more upright riding position?
Peg lowering kit to get a little more leg room?-
Aftermarket soft or hard panniers? I do like have some storage capacity
Taller windscreen?
I know insurance rates vary from place to place but what are riders paying? I'm in the northeast just outside of Philadelphia, PA.
What do you like most about the Gen III and least
Any regrets
Any known issues to be aware of?
How many miles do you get per tank?
The bike will be fast enough for me from the factory so I don't have any interest in performance modifications.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all
- a sport bike has low handlebars, if you raise them, you lose on the overall handling
- it is a low-seat bike, if you want more room (=height), perhaps it is the wrong choice
- I opted for soft ones, as I did not want fixing anything at all, that would need effort to remove, once not needed
- a sport bike has a low windscreen, and suzuki's is already not the lowest
- miles per tank, depends on speed and acceleration, just compares against a humble car

can you not try it out?

rgds

PS you must be ready to employ your back muscles to keep your trunk in an extended position to the front but there is a reward: disc hernias are mitigated/relieved because that position is beneficial to your spine - the upright position is back's killer. At my age of 64, hayabusa riding is healthier than car driving

Have to agree with you on all those points.

I’m probably biased though, after 100 miles on the Colnago, the Busa as it comes off the showroom floor is more comfortable than a Cadillac.
