Should I buy a Gen III

My wife said I could go buy a new Gen 3 if I wanted to......it's always nice to have her buy in before a purchase but I declined as my Gen 2 is more than enough bike for me and I have it dialed in to almost perfection and don't have the energy to get a Gen 3 to the standard I want...

Then she said I could go get a new Ram Rebel that I've been sort of eye-balling but I also declined as I don't drive the truck I have very often and a new one would be just sitting in my driveway most of the time....

I'm probably just going to put some money towards renovations I guess....

Sounds like you have a wonderful wife and she has a thoughtful husband. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your point of view I don't have a wife so I'm pretty much able to make buying decisions without anyone else's input which isn't always a good thing because my buying decisions aren't always wise ones.

Thanks for the link, I called them this afternoon and they were straight forward with the price with no excessive dealership fees. Looks like this will be my next bike. Gotta figure out a day and time to head down there
That's great! I was living in NC at the time and bought my '08 as a birthday gift. I talked with them on the phone, received the quote, took them my money and had them uncrate it for me. Had a spirited ride back home. Enjoyed the experience. Of course, the bike was stolen a year later out of the parking lot at work, so be careful.

Most of my riding will be in rural areas and the only time I'll be off the bike is to eat, get gas or maybe step away from the bike to do a little sightseeing. Theft can happen anywhere but the areas where I ride theft will be less of a concern.

Thanks, the wife is a good egg, at one point I had 5 bikes in the garage and she never said a word....even after 32 years she still likes me....well maybe tolerates me is more the reality.....

Yes Yes Yes GIF

I saw a video the other day about the history of the Hayabusa. In 1999 they were $10k or $10,500 and adjusted for inflation the Gen3 At $18,800 is pretty much the same price and you get way more for your money. Minus that raw, brutal, visceral, wants to tear your face off feeling the Gen1 had I mean.

OP, @wellcraft, mentioned in another thread that he was picking up his new '23 on Monday from Rockingham, NC. Think the question has been answered and he should post up showing his excitement.

I picked up my new 2023 Hayabusa two days ago from Sport Cycles in Rockingham, NC, great dealership to do business with and I got a killer deal on the bike which made the 1200 mile round trip to pick it up worthwhile.

Congrats and enjoy. Busa’s purchased in NC are the fastest in the nation. We have a secret code, directly to Japan.

Stick it in A-1-1, quick shifter to 1, turn the awful HILL Hold to OFF, starter button brings up the easy to use 2-step launch options.

Good to go !

Play with the rest later.

The day they unveiled the Gen 3 I showed my wife, thinking she'd say "no". She told me to get it and off to the dealership we went to throw a deposit at them!

That's how I justified it... and really, liter bikes are just as expensive now, if not more
