i want to be prepared without over packing , thanks:D

The way the weather changes from day to day around here I woulnnt trust it. I would bring a rain suit just in case, better to have and not need. The last forcast I seen said:
Friday high 72 low 47
Saturday high 75 low 52 30% chance of isolated T showers
Sunday high 71 low 48 30% chance scattered T storms
I think we will be OK and have a nice weekend.

sounds good , i would like to keep an eye on things down there , we just got 2+ inches of rain in 24hrs and it would realy suck to travel 900 miles for that , but yeah looks like a great weekend !

A word of warning for the flks that are coming to the Bash next weekend. THP and Blount Co had the helicopters and roadblocks out this weekend accordingt to the East Tenn Riders forum. They wrote a LOT of tickets for improper tag mounting. Make sure you have an insurance card on hand and a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license if required. ETR warns that they will probably be out in force every weekend for a while.

We'll be there Wed around mid day I'm hoping... Probably up for a afternoon ride, maybe the skyway. Still planning the long loop thursday.

The shirts should be delivered up there sometime before friday, so we are good there. The schedule posted is still the one, just not an organized cook out. There will be several grills in addition to the one there, so if you wanna cook out either bring your own or go to the store up there. I'm sure no one will go hungry

Look forward to seeing everyone up there, be safe on the drive down and plan on a leisurely few days of riding. I rather suspect the police will be out in force with as many groups as there are scheduled for the area. There will be some chances I'm sure to open it up, but I'm guessing the dragon and skyway will be pretty heavily looked after

What is considered improper tag mounting?

I'm not entirely sure but, when I was there recently, a lot of sportbikes had their tags relocated waaaaay-forward under the rear body work, essentially under the rider's seat and hard to see...more or less in front of the rear tire instead of behind the rear tire.

I read on the East Tenn Riders forum that they were getting them for swingarm mounts too. Sux!.....guess I better relocate mine before I leave Wed or Thurs.
I'd like to read the Tenn law on what is proper and improper.

swing arm mounts are likely to be OK if they are horizontal and lighted.

Blount is a small community (comparitively) .....and this is a large revenue source for them.

if you are traveling in from out of state....check your state's .gov website for license mounting regualations and be sure that you comply...you can print that out and stuff it under the seat for questions later.

I have a thread here somewhere for the people out of FL on what the rules are....MC Mustang had an issue in the past and i dug it up.

Who was bringing a roll of raffle tickets?
I had offered to bring a number of things ...tickets / extra burner and CDs for the photo discs etc...

Since no response was given, I took it as a "no thanks" .... so I made other plans.

Glad to see someone else stepped up while I was out of town tho.
I thought in one of our PM's I had asked you to bring them. I just could not remember who it was........

Ahhh,
Glad someone is benefitting from my pain. Yep, I need to move my tag, when I moved mine from the swingarm to the undertail, I still get a little grief, better to move it out to be sure! I sort of need to get a handle on my mess of wires anyway!

BTW - Thanks all for the gouge!

Guess this will be the weekend I get tagged for the tag mount...

Don't these guys have anything better to do? Jeez...

i geuss i need to move my tag to the back again
will bring some coat hangers if anybody need to rig one up reall quick like , for quick fix

I think its good to have him there. He can advise us, meet us and who knows, maybe it will pay off if we are just being stupid and he is the one to catch us?

I like that he's going to be there, dont see anything but positive from it really.

And Michelle, to answer your question, NO they dont have anything better to do than bust your chops but really they are only going to do it if you are being stupid or riding wrecklessly. They realize the bikers and car enthusiasts are the life blood of the area and really only crack down when needed.

Now, if there's a serious accident over the weekend (and with as many people up in the area that are scheduled from the various groups, chances are good someone will wreck) then you can expect increased patrols and harrassment.
