Spring Bash ~ April 28-30

Excellent post Tom. As a regular I cant agree more with that post.

No matter how good a rider you are, this road does take some getting used too. Take your time and have a great weekend.....

Agree 100$% with the message to first timers. If you're uncomfortable take that as a warning. Stay in your lane and in your comfort zone and you'll have a blast!

well, change of plans, my friends backed out so I guess I will see everyone on Friday.
I thought I was there alot....lol....

No riding for me this weekend, I am recovering from wisdom tooth removal. There is no way I can get a helmet on, lol.

It's almost time to roll. Have a few things left to do on the busa before I put the plastics on. My bad boy has new Maxxis tires, fresh oil & filter, Sylvania Silver star headlight, new front and rear brakes, clean and lubed chain, new plugs, and all the fluids topped off. Now if I still have enough cash for some gas I'm good to go. Omslaw and I will be leaving KC wed. afternoon to go up to Moline, Ill to hook up with GSXTacy and Poops Roos, and head for the bash thurs.. AM. We will be taking I74 east to Indianapolis, then I65 to Louisville, I64 to lexington. We will be looking for somewhere to stay the night somewhere between Lexington, Ky. and Knoxville, TN. on I75. Would any of you have any suggestions on someplace interesting to stay the evening. We would like to be 2-3 hrs out of Robbinsville max. Can't wait to meet those of you I have not met before. All of you have a safe trip to the bash, see you sooooon!

Are you guys riding or trailering. I ask because I think you will find it quiker to go south in Illinois in to Kentucky and then I24 to Nashville then I40 to I75 south then get off on 68to Tellico Plains then take 165 its the Cherohala Skyway to Robbinsville. The going is slow once you get south of Knoxville. When I got off of I75 last year and took this route it took 2 hours to go 60 miles. If you are riding you can make it faster but that last part takes a while what ever way you go.
Hooken, We were sort of looking for a new way with some new sights and roads. Both Chris and myself have been on that route many times since my father lives in southern Georgia. We do not have a reservation in Robbinsville for Thursday night so we planned on staying overnight a couple hours from the gap. We have a trailer and plan on riding part of the way, and taking a rest by putting the bike in the trailer and riding in the truck for awhile. You and Travis have a safe trip and we will see you FRIDAY! YIPEEE!

Just want to meet you guys and gals, see some cool BUSAs, learn more about my bike, and enjoy the ride.

New stator cover should arrive Tuesday, will be on Tuesday, and Suzi and I will leave Thursday a.m. as planned ,with arrival Thursday afternoon.

GSXcite Your route sounds good I have been that way to Knoxville before it just seems like it takes longer that way but also seems like the scerney is better. That last part into Deals Gap or if you go the other way on the skyway seems to takes for ever. May be its the anticipation. You guys ride safe see you there.

Vman I will bring raffle tickets if we need them great if not I can use them at home. I got a couple things for the raffle remind me when we get there I will give them to you.

Hey yawl,
Okay, I have been searching through four different threads and my head hurts. Is there any sort of a rough schedule? This is what was in the registration thread, I am wondering because I will have my family with me and I want to plan our days; so far, I plan on arriving late Thurs/early Fri - spending the day on Fri with the fam, Fri night at the social, Sat, riding all day! then Sun meeting up with a couple of local friends and heading back home. So can someone help me out give me the gouge? Also, are we still doing the shirts and if so, who/when do we pay?

The specific times you will need to be present are as follows:

Friday evening
6pmish at the Phillips Motel on Friday night is when we'll start serving food for the group cookout.

8pmish we'll start to migrate down to the lower fire pit for a campfire/social.

830pm We will discuss the plans for the group ride on Sat. morning, including the killboy photo shoot locations and group picture. This is an important ride meeting so if you are going to attend the sat. morning ride/group photo shots, please make all efforts to attend.

Immediately following the ride plan meeting, we will start the raffle for members that wish to participate in it. There will be tickets for the basic and tshirt registration members and available for $5 for the free registration members. There will be ONE (1) ticket per site MEMBER. If you have friends coming with you, they must be site members to participate in the raffle.

Sat morning.

Please plan to be at the CROT *by* 830am. We will stage up there and plan to ride down to the dam at 9am sharp. This will parade past the Killboy photo shot spot. If you cannot or do not want to be part of the group ride but want to be in the group shot, please plan to be at the Fontana Dam off Hwy28 by 10am. The group shot is targeted for 1030am, with the group ride arrival of approx 1015am. We will then head back towards the CROT for lunch and afternoon ride locations.

I would be nice to have some clarification on what will be happening and when. How many bbq's will be there friday night? Should I bring one?

O.K., here is my take on the schedule. There is no registration for the Bash. You pay for your pre-ordered shirt @ the Bash. BYOB(bring your own beef) to the cook-out Friday night, $5(?) raffle tickets, Sat. morning breakfast @CROT then ride to the dam for group picture(s) w/ a $ contribution for a cd to be mailed. Killboy taking pictures along the route. Whew. In a nutshell, how did I do?

Edit***Several peeps are bringing grills!
