I will be glad to show you the fast way through the Gap....
Ok, since you live near the Gathering (There can be only one   ) and I will not know if I can go until the last min.

, where is the closest Hotel like a Hampton Inn, Quality Inn etc ? Wife will probably go and she is not interested in riding bikes, meeting you guys YES, but riding NO :wizard:

There is a Microtel in Robbinsville, however nothing really to do. No shopping, if she likes hiking there are abundant trails to explore.

The nearest shopping friendly place would be Maryville/Alcoa area of TN. There are several quality hotels and a mall there with good places to eat.

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge or Knoxville will be the best place for shopping however either will be more than 1 hour away.

And oh yeah....bring it

Vman, You can ride the gap faster with one hand off than me, i've seen it first hand! Here's the scenario for everyone else: Vman was irritated at a car in front of him on the dragon and i was behind him, while he was guesturing to the cager he had to slow, on the other hand i was trying my hardest to keep up. LOL I thought i was doing pretty good until i got behind Vman.
That was cold dose of reality on just how much riding technique i needed to learn and develope.

Thanks Vman, my wife's idea of roughing it is a Quality Inn with a big field behind it

I'm in 100%! Just got the 06 so I don't know any other busa owners... Looking for 2 more people to split a cabin with...

The Gap is a great place to ride and enjoy a great selection of roads. However it is to be respected. I know it goes with out saying, ride within your limits at all times while on the Gap or any road for that matter.

There have been several times I have nearly pulled the seat cover off my Corbin with my...well you know. The sad part...it was not my fault, it was due to a cager or another bike in my lane.

At the Gap or any area you have to be ready for the unexpected. Cars, bikes and wildlife are present on almost every run.

For many years I haved tried to improve my skills on the Gap, those days are over, I am hooked on track days.

Am I done riding fast on the street, that answer is no. I will take what I learn on the track to make me smoother.

I have just recieved a little inside info on next years NESBA dates and there will be more than 2 days at Road Atlanta, woo hoo!

I AM STILL WORKING ON A COUPLE OF PEOPLE TO COME TO THE BASH. HOPE TO KNOW SOON. CANT WAIT FOR SPRING, EVEN THOUGH WINTER IS JUST STARTING.

and the campfire stories begin !

Its more like bonfire. If it can be burned, this crew will try...
hey, I resemble that comment
laugh.gif

And the only thing that we have burned that really shouldnt be attempted was the branch on the tree above the fire pit.... and the chairs we had to move away from the other fire pit.... and I dunno who got the idea to increase the heat factor and cook some huge stones but that one wasnt me for sure

I am responsible though for the huge steam bursts at the end of the night

Going to reserve a room Monday. Have 4 or 5 friends coming with me so should be a fun ride down. Plan on getting there hopefully sometime friday and heading back out Monday morning.

What rooms are most staying in so far so can try to get located near you?

Is anyone going from TX/OK? I wouldn't mind hooking up and trailering our bikes there. Not sure if the turbo is up for quite a jaunt otherwise! Let me know. Sure would be nice to meet some of you guys.

Not sure how many folks are coming from the TX/Ok area. We have a few from KS/AR that have said they are coming down and one other person from TX I believe. Might be worth PM'ing them to see what their plans are....I think some of the midwest guys are riding
wow.gif

Hope you can make it down though

the rides are pretty excellent

Mr Ted? Will you be joining us? (That's him next to the trailer and his Annibusa behind mine. Pic was taken at Road Atlanta so I know he travels)
